Lula, you have made a typo! It should read "week."
Phew, thanks for picking that up sarah, could have been a really nasty year _pale_ , moment of madness now safely passed & you'll be pleased to know I'm going shopping tomorrow for more christmas presents ... for me :rotfl:
Hope you're ok ?0 -
Well, I'm just trying to work it out. I do understand what you mean about the clothes, I feel the same way about toiletries because I cannot justify buying a single thing in 2009 and shamefully I have not even investigated my wardrobe yet, because I know I will find at least another 100 items of make up and toiletries in there.
But thinking about the clothes, I do have enough to justify not buying anything next year, but the problem is I haven't really had my lightbulb moment with them yet like I have with debts and toiletries. Also, even if I just stuck to buying the bare minimum ie underwear and tights, I would probably need more than £100 just for those.
I like a challenge though, so am pondering a "I only spend my Quidco money on clothes next year" type thing. I made £400 this year so that might be ok. And I am very possessive about my free money so I know it wouldn't be squandered on rubbish, I would make sure I only had lovely things to show for it. So would that count as joining your challenge?Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
aarrrrgggghhhh!!!
Just getting ready to retire to my sick bed - I made up my hottie, chucked it in the bed and went to brush my teeth/sort out my room/tidy up a bit, then I got into bed and it was soaking wet. The quilt, the mattress, everything. AND...it's kind of pink (I've got a pink furry hot water bottle)
Fortunately, I've got a spare quilt, but it was in a bag on top of the wardrobe, so that was a nice little balancing act I had to pull off to, er, pull it off.
I've sorted it out now, so I'm not as :wall: as I was 10 minutes ago, but still...
(thing is...should I tell cute Italian flatmate I've made his mattress pink, or should I, ahem, fuggettaboutit?)£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months

Phew! Normality restored! Am going to keep my Quidco money just for clothes though, as I want to do the £4k challenge next year I think I will be short of money for nice things anyway:rolleyes: So, ordinary clothes out of budget and lovely clothes from Quidco.

I'm considering launching a challenge to only spend £100 on clothes for the whole of next year  . Would anyone be interested in joining me ?
Now, I HATE clothes shopping, I really do, but I've had so many clothes clearouts this year (moved 3 times this year - chucked out at least one black bag of clothes each time) that I ended up practically having to go to work in my jarmies :rotfl:
Therefore, any other year and I'd be able to do your £100 challenge, but I really need to build up my wardrobe next year. Thing is... most of my money seems to go on bras (apologies boys for this bit of girl-talk), but my boobs seems to be three different sizes a month£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months

Sarah,
It's ok, sit down & have an emergency crunchie / drink & breathe deeply.
When I say clothes; that doesnt include any form of underwear, footwear :heartpuls , accessories :heartpuls or any gift vouchers / money gifts / money already saved for eg quidco ( cunningly thought out to leave room for maneouvre) .
I hate to fail a challenge & think that if I have to confess/declare every purchase I make then it will definitely make me reconsider every potential purchase.
I admit that as I work from home & have the social life of a panda & could easily go 2 weeks wearing different clothes every day without having to do any washing then it shouldnt be that hard  .
It is my biggest weakness
It will also encourage more weight loss.
Does it sound less scary now ?0
