How to knock back a smug married bloke (From a not so smug single bloke)

Smug married person: Are you married?
    Sarah: Not that I remember!
SMP: Do you have a boyfriend?
    Sarah: No, do you?
SMP: Do you have any children.
Sarah: Haven't you got any of your own, then?

Sarah, I've been lurking on this thread a few days now (I hope you don't mind). I think you've got a lot to say that's interesting (and entertaining!).

    runmichellerun is spot on.

I think you've got enough experience of life to have a conversation with anybody. If you just took your on-line chat into the real world, you might surprise yourself.

Building freindships is like dealing with debt. Do it one step at a time, but don't be scared off, if it doesn't go the way you want it too.

The whole world won't point their finger at you, they won't even know (unless you tell them).

Just ask smug married about themselves and let them talk! you don't have to be cross examined - you are single and fabulous.

    Have fun!

    Hello everyone :santa2:

Well I didn't do a very good job of staying away from MSE for the weekend :o But I had to come on to update my sig to 2 NSD's as I forgot to do it yesterday! Does this sound like a good enough excuse?? :rotfl:

Anyways, just a quick one to say Sarah I hope you have a great night. If you're already dreading it and thinking it's gonna be naff then you'll not be dissappointed if it is! Good luck with smug married people but hopefully you'll be spending too much time with the singletons to even bother with the smuggies!! I agree with eco, the others will probably be wishing they didnt have to go either!

TDQO... Do you already say hello to this girl? It does sound like she's interested and I think that giving her your number is a good idea but how would you feel if she didn't ring/text or she did ring/text saying she had a boyfriend or something? You'd still have to see her everyday! I think you should try having a conversation with her if you can but if in a couple of weeks you haven't got anywhere by doing that then sod it, just give her your number! :rotfl: To be totally honest I think someone who just gave me their number without speaking to me was a bit of a snake and I'd think it probably wasn't the frst time he'd done it, but then again I think all men are snakes anyways  Keep us updated!

:santa2: SmileyG welcome to the thread :)

Right I'm off to an Anne Summers, won't be treating myself though as I've no money but we're having a chinese. I'm gonna take a couple of quid (in 20p's :o )for some chips and curry so I'm happy :D

Hope you all have a good weekend...if I'm on again tomorrow feel free to give me a boot up the backside !!

Oh it's almost christmas i'm so excited :xmassmile

Oh well, I can't help it - it's Friday and I was feeling a bit !!!!less!

I remember when I went to a concert with my sis, we were sat on the grass chatting and every time a guy walked past I watched them walk past apparently, my sis shouted at me to stop it, I hadn't even noticed.

Very brave of you both to go to a party together when you hadn't met before!

That is why I was surprised she said yes when I invited her. We have been chatting on and off for 3 months online.
How does she seem when you are online, is she still keen to talk to you? Have you asked her to meet up again?

She seems to be ok to talk to still (when I can actually get hold of her). Thats the difficult part. I have her mobile number but I don't want to appear desperate! She does work long hours though.

Maybe the internet thing is just her excuse to get you to call her.
