Thought I'd pop in being a long time lurker  , I'm subscribed to this thread of Sarah's, just thought I'd comment on the "no claims" bit of your post. I was on ex-oh's policy for 15 years, no policy of mine own, when we split & I got my own insurance, I got 5 years introductory no claims, by being able to prove that I'd been a named driver on someone else's policy.
Sorry if that was a bit long & rambling for a the first post on this thread by a lurker :rotfl:
By the way Sarah, everyone deserves to treat themselves & silly though it may sound I always try & buy myself something just for me when I get paid every month, even if it's only a book or box of choccies, just to tell myself I'm working for something other the normal monthly bills :j
Hi InkyCats20, welcome to the thread and thank you so much for your helpful first post! I did think I had read somewhere that you could reduce your insurance if you'd been on someone's policy, but I wasn't sure so thanks for the info. I was on my parents' policy for years and I remember it being hugely expensive when I got insurance in my own name. In fact my first year's insurance cost more that my car was actually worth:rolleyes:.
I do try to do the same as you re treats, unfortunately it got a bit out of hand:oPay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
Hello & welcome to fiestaman & inkycats &
helllloooo to everyone else too
Runmichelle - so sorry you're having a !!!!!! time :grouphug: to you sweetie.
Wow, it's finally thursday which is my favourite evening ; work all completed, pay day tomorrow & no work til monday :j . DD & I popped up to M&S this evening to pick up some bits & I could feel that old adrenalin surge of the past when I used to just buy, buy, buy ...all on the credit card
. I was very good & only bought a top for DD & also the angel costume required for school  . And before anyone says it ; No I couldnt have made one for half the price, buttons & hems is my limit  .
Not sure how others are feeling but I'm looking forward to not having to deal with the complications of having an OH this chirstmas. It's simple; I see my family & then when I'm all done with that I have a week off work (unpaid  ) & I'm going to chill right out  .
I still havent lost any weight  but I've been practising a few yoga stretches to try & help reduce the inches. Grrrr really cross with myself for not being more disciplined, I'm just far too self indulgent & lazy  .0 -
I suppose not having a boyfriend at least means I am saving money on presents and I am looking forward to spending the week relaxing in peace and quiet with books, tv, wine and chocs and no interuptions. So there are lots of obvious pluses to being single at Christmas.
However, I do hope in a way that this is my last "single" Christmas. Can't really be bothered to find anyone at the moment though. Hmmm. Not sure how that will work itself out.Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
:hello: inkycats, thanks for posting. I've have been insured on my mam's car since I passed my test 15 months ago so I'll look into it see if it helps :j
Hi fiestaman... you're more than welcome to muscle in... you most certainly do qualify
I am also looking forward to another single xmas
I hate choosing presents for OH's and I'm not all that fussed about receiving them either! Which reminds me, it was DD's xmas fair at school yesterday and she won a boots smelly set in the raffle. She didn't want it so I told her to wrap it up for me for xmas. Which is good coz we were talking on Tuesday andit was said I'd giver her £20 to go to town with my sister and get me something so thats saved me £20
although It means I still won't have the new killers album!! Might have to get it for DD for xmas
Oh I think I'm going to go for an early night.I've got a busy weekend ahead and Im gonna try keeping away from MSE for the weekend (it worked for Lula haha!) Not coz I'm fed up or anything, I just spend so much time on here and I've got too much to do. I would die if anyone seen my kitchen right now yet I've sat here most of the night!
Hope you all have a great weekend, I'll look forward to catching up on Monday!Initial Debt July 2020 - £6,772.80

Hmm seeing as this thread is mostly ladies I have a questionL:
I take the bus to work everyday and for the last few days a rather attractive young lady has got on a few stops before I get off and has spent the entire time glancing over at me, fiddling with her hair, giving me quick smiles etc... What should I do? I've always had to chase women in the past, I don't know how to deal this kind of situation! Should I try to talk to her? Give her my number just as I get off? Or am I deluding myself and should I ignore her?The size of a glory hole in an open pit should not be greater than the cross-section of the haul trucks that dump into it. Otherwise, you are bound to lose a truck, sooner or later. Source: Sergio Cha
I'm sorry for the demon I've become but you should be sorry for the angel you are not.0 -

Hi TDQO ,
it sounds like you may have an admirer
. I think the old fashioned style of saying 'good morning' with a smile is a good way of just making contact. How the admirer responds should give you a clue as to her intentions.I would never call someone if they just gave me a number without even bothering to speak to me first, that's just rude  .
Good luck & let us know how you get on.
By the way SBC is very male & may have more suggestions for you

TDQO- one of the lads i work with wrote his number on a peice of paper and dropped it on a girls lap as he was getting of the bus, and she rang him, saying that he already has a GF and i gave him a hard time, but it worked, so be a bit cheeky and go for it, cos what you got to lose?0

Arrggh! I am sitting here getting anxious because I have to go to a party type thing with work tonight, it is to meet another team at work and I don't know any of them, I will only know two people there. I definitely can't drink because I might make a fool of myself and I can't have a glass of wine before I go as I am driving to save taxi costs.
I hate going somewhere when I hardly know anyone. I hate making small talk and now I am getting myself all worked up! I have taken a half day off to come home and get ready as it starts at 7 and a full day would mean I had to rush.
I don't want to go. I feel sick. I hate work things because I won't be able to avoid these people in future if I do or say something stupid. Plus I don't have anything nice that fits so I will have to wear my usual party outfit which I do like and just about fits but hugs in all the wrong places (why oh why can't I stick to a diet?) For God's sake I am 36, I should be better at this by now.
