i'm back, clothes are my down fall and like skint i never ever have anything to wear, amazing really there's no room in the wardrobe for anything else, and when my ex left i filled the space in the wardrobe pretty fast.

Exactly! I can hardly open my wardrobe, it's full to bursting point, but I can never find anything to wear:confused: I need to have a big clear out, there are a few charity shops by me, but I always worry I will be walking past them one day and the mannequins will be wearing my clothes. That would just be too wierd.:o

    evening :hello:

Sarah I'm sure there's plenty of people on this site who would say you didn't need to buy the clothes, but I think you've probably made the right choice to buy them. If it was a new bag or £100 pair of shoes I'd have said noway, but we all need clothes and it's all clothes you've had your eye on anyways and you've got them alot cheaper, plus is all out of your quidco money so that's even better. Yes I know your quidco money could be thrown at your debts but I think we'd all fall of the wagon if we didn't treat ourselves once in a while.

Eco.. your message before when you were at work had me in stitches! I wanna work with men, even if they only have half a braincell between them! (and fart all day) I'm not fussy like lol When is your works night out in Wakey?? I'm soooooo jealous!

Skint_spice... I agree that dress is gorgeous!! Are you going to buy it?? I haven't got round to reading your diary yet, but I have subscribed to it so when I get chance I shall have a read through.
Buffy.. I've subscribed to your diary too so will read it when I get chance.

I love reading diaries, I first got addicted to the site from reading someone's diary, it took me weeks to read, it was like a book. I can't remember her level of debt now but it was massive and in the end she got out of the debt and ended up moving and getting engaged, what I read upto it was like a fairytale ending, I'll have to try and find it. I'm babysitting at my sisters on Saturday night and I've been up there cleaning for about 4 hours tonite so with no cleaning needing doing I think I'll spend the night catching up on diaries so if anyone else here has one let me know :)

Ossireo...Did you go to your diet class ?? It's always better to go even if you think you've had a bad week! (i'm sure you've heard that a million times:mad: )
Anyways, if you did go I hope it went ok. And no doubt you'll be having a lovely time now snuggled up with SC ;)

Lula I'm glad you had a good night at your friends lastnight, you've had a good sociable few days :) I thought you were joing us tonite but you're probably catching up on all the sleep you've missed out on the last few night. here's hoping you wake up less grumpy in the morning :D

Well I've had my head all over the place today. The guy who I lend the car off rang me this morning and offered me if for £1000. I just do NOT know what to do. I know I'm gonna end up buyin it but £1000 is soooooooooooooo much money when I'm trying to pay off debts

    So ...
I don't need to give him the money until June when the MOT runs out
I need a car to get to work
I know the car and know I :heartpuls it lots!
I've already spent £200 on it this year in repairs
it's a 'W' reg and done 44k I think this is good  someone please tell me if its not! I'm a typical girl that knows NOTHING about cars!!
My last car cost me £250...lasted 4 months...and 1K is only 4x £250 yet the car is 10x better

    but...
I'll need to pay insurance every month

and... as daft as it sounds I just cannot imagine being a owner of such a lovely lovely lovely little car. It's only a Clio but it's just gorgeous and a total dream car for me and for some reason just feel like I don't deserve something so good  I don't know why I feel like that, coz I know I deserve nice things as much as the next person but I guess I feel I haven't earnt it. but what the heck have I got to do to feel like I deserve it?!

I guess I'll just have to check out the insurance now see if there's any chance on this earth I'm gonna be able to afford it. I don't have any no claims as I've always been on someone elses insurance. I only want to do it if I can keep chipping away at my debts. Anyways I think that's my rant over and I don't think it makes sense but I know you all understand that things always seem clearer once you've had a good rant about it :p

I was trying to work out what I actually spent my money on.

I have a consolidation loan I got to clear an old loan and some credit cards and I still have a good while to finish it and I literally cannot point to one thing and say I bought that with it. Some of the original debt must be years old. I obviously admit to clothes, shoes etc but I have no idea which ones, I know it wasn't all that though. It's terrible that I have nothing to show for it.

Despite the posts above I am trying to be sensible, I avoided putting the car costs on the credit card, in fact I haven't used one since I cleared them. So I have learned a lesson of sorts. A very expensive one.

I didn't need them, I just wanted them:o But you are right, we all need clothes and if I can't be rich at least I can look the part:rolleyes: But the way I see it is I will be here for a while yet and I haven't added to my debts and I was saving up my Quidco money for this sort of thing anyway and I have been very good and not spent any of it this year.

I know I could have thrown it at the debts but I know me, if I just concentrate on the debt busting I will start to feel deprived of things and fall of the wagon, which I do not want. So I have to go a bit slower and build in some treats. Plus I am planning to do the 4k year next year which will be the longest I have ever stuck at anything since uni if I manage it and if I do that with the 20k challenge I will actually be debt free. So if I am sensible I am on the homeward stretch. (I hope).

You just have to post on here and we will tell you you do, because you do!

The car sounds fab:j It sounds like a very good deal and even better that you don't have to pay until June. Would you be able to save that much by then or will you have to add to your debts? Even if you have to do that I think you should, a reliable car is a godsend and will make your life so much easier and like you say there is no point paying £250 for a car for 4 months if you can get a much better one that will probably last much longer even if it costs more, it's much more cost effective in the long run.

Don't forget you could always bargain him down from the 1000 to maybe 750-800?

The price guides say it could be worth anything from £750 up to £2200 ish.

It depends mostly on what type of Clio it is. There are several types of trim, 3 or 5 door, different engine sizes & it also depends a lot on whether its diesel or petrol.

    Hi everyone,

sorrry I missed last night - I didnt finish work until 9pm  & then could only manage a bath, the housewives & bed :o .

Ooooh new clothes & new cars :j .

Bowski - the mileage is good for a car that age & if you've been driving it a while then you're obviously happy with it. I loved my old L reg :o clio which was a very 'bargain basment' model & my newer & much better spec one is fab. What SBC says about the diffrent models is very true though. I've got a fair bit of info on them all if you need any advice PM me, or you can go to the parkers website to have a look . Not sure if I should put a link & sorry if I shouldnt www.parkers.co.uk .

I'm all done with socialising for a while now - it's so time consuming & stressful - what to wear/what fits etc. Will try to catch up properly later if I dont have too much work again.

    Bye for now
    Lula xx

  • I fancy a new car at the moment - sorely tempted as I've been told I should expect about £3K trade-in for my present car so something new would be affordable if I could get that as a trade-in. Problem is, having been on the debt-free trail for so long now, I hate spending money. I cannot fathom the thought of spending so much money on anythig ever again! :o Before, I took out a ten grand loan and would not think twice, now I know I will worry myself sick about a fraction of that.

    Funny how things change!

Just had my appraisal thing at work - 360 degree appraisal about me and my boss and our relationship which actually went really well. Was worried about it, but nice to hear that he thinks I'm an important part of the team as sometimes I worry about how I'm perceived. Oh well, all well and good!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
