Hi Guys,

I have been married twice, yes thats right twice and have a 6 year old son and Im only 27
I just cant seem to get it right!
I have been single now for over a year, had a few non starter relationships, loads of dates but nothing worth while.
The last guy dumped me because he wasnt ready for a relationship  Why go on an internet dating site then?!?!

Welcome to the thread Lilly! :hello:
Rants, tears, laughs, waffle etc all welcome here, Sarah is an excellent host :j Married twice, that's impressive at 27! Has it put you off marriage at all out of interest? At times I think I never could get married again, but on times it appeals to me, however I am 36 and still trying to get divorced from my 1st husband and we have been apart for over 7 years now :rolleyes:0 -

It wasn't till I read this that I remembered that my mother was on her 2nd marriage at 25! My dad had two kids from his 1st marriage (he was widowed at 25) and my mother had two kids from her 1st marriage. She divorced him then married my dad and they had two more kids (me being one of them!).
By the time she was 28 she was on husband number 2 with 6 kids under the age of 9. And they'd moved to Manchester to open a shop!
Happy days. Crazy, but happy

I've played it so safe for years and it's kept me safe, but single, and I'm bored of being single.
Ow. That hit a nerve that's not been used for a while!
At least now I know I'm not the only one!
I know the thing I need to do is be brave and take chances but when it comes to it I am a big fluffy coward!
Sending y'll goodnight kisses now as I am shattered and trekking round the country AGAIN tomorrow. In your honour, I promise not to run away from any cute single men I meet in the process.
:kisses3: :grouphug:
I am learning so much more from here than from any self-help book!

Happy December everyone,
I had a very DFW week end; I havent spent any money since friday
. I've made payments on both the CCs today & I think I might just get the total below £6,000 before the end of the year .
I have to confess to having been a bit naughty at the week end :shhh: an 'old friend' came to visit on friday evening & didnt go home until sunday
.
Anyway, welcome to Lilly & be assured that Sarah is superb at hosting this event :A there is wine, chocolate, great company, shoes & bags & all manner of fabby stuff here :j
I'm actually going out tomorrow night to spend an evening with people over 4ft tall who are allowed to drive & drink alcohol ( not simultaneously of course  ). It's a curry night at a friends house & as well as people I do know there are going to be some that I dont so thats quite exciting for me
. I get really nervous as I'm rubbish at small talk & usually end up being over 'bubbly' & the guys think I'm flirting with them which I'm sooo not  .
Any tips on safe small talk ?0 -
Hi Lula
I'm not surprised you had a DFW weekend if you had a friend over to stay all weekend (lucky you! hope you had a great time!)
Re tomorrow's non-jockey club (I'm guessing that as you mentioned they're all over 4ft tall you're either a teacher at little school or something to do with horseracing?!), I...well...I'm not the best person to ask about small talk because I find it really difficult myself! However, I would suggest that you steer clear of the following:
UK politics - could potentially cause a row
world events - depressing
religion - see UK politics
credit crunch - see world events
You could try the following though
reality tv - even if people don't watch it they tend to have strong opinions about it, and it's always good for a bit of a debate)
US elections - who hasn't got an opinion about barack obama?
sport - but only if you know your stuff
small news stories - check out the "also in the news" on the bbc website for some quirky talking points
If all else fails, or if you're in over your head, pretend the curry's too hot so you have to keep taking mouthfuls of water! This should buy some thinking time

Am not the best one to advise here, I hate going to things by myself. I always end up being completely silent or over bubbly like you. Hopefully the weekend will have left you glowing and they will be furiously thinking of conversations they can start with you.;)Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0
