  • Okay you lovely people, I'm going to go to my kipster now. Got to see the Doc at 9am, see if he can shed any light on this bloody neck problem.

Thank you for tonight, I go to sleep with a light heart. It's good to have single buddies to talk to. Big hugs to you all.

    Till next time

I just didn't want to be one of the single for eternity ones. Probably why I clung on to my ex so much as I didn't want to be on my own again. But he did treat me like dirt.

So yeah, maybe better not to settle.

I did ask a few guys out in my teens. They all said no. I swore I would never do that again. It's never done me any good. So I've only ever had one boyfriend. Maybe that is my lot.

Its hard not to be totally disheartened isn't it? I can't think of anything to say that wouldn't be annoying !

I am just going to go out with my friends smile and drink beer. - see I told you I couldn't think of anything to say!! but you aren't alone hon xxxxx

Exactly, the beginning is always great, the butterflies bit, and I love that bit, it's just when you get deeper into the relationship and you find out they have problems or want different things, it's so disheartening, I always used to think I could get them round to my way of thinking. It was a big change for me to realise you have to accept them as they are, and then see whether it is worth continuing.

You can't make someone do something - they'll only do it if they want to, so I'll guess you'll change together - that seems to be how it works. What do I know?!! :rotfl:

Alternatively, take each day as it comes and just go in it for the honeymoon period. If it lasts it's a bonus. If it doesn't, you've just had a rather lovely 8/9 month fling :D

I will feel like a failure if I don't get married and have kids and I do wake up in cold sweats because I'm 31 and have been single for 2 and a half years.

Pinkie (can I call you that?)

Please don't think you're a failure if you haven't got married and had kids. That's such a lot of pressure to put on your future husband and children. Can I suggest you read the Sally Brompton thingy from the Sunday Times link (earlier post). Focus on you and your happiness, then see what happens.

And.... two of my friends are married to lovely lovely men who they would NEVER have considered even going out with initially. They just did it to stop him from asking!! Years (and children) later they're still very happy. Not everyone gives a great first impression - why not say yes to the next man who asks. The worst that can happen is that you have a dull dinner date (which he should pay for, so it's good DFW practice :rotfl: )

Right, I'm really going to go now. Unless of course more posts have appeared in the time I've written this!

Hey, no worries, just in a downer at the moment. I still don't think badly of guys, I just think due to my lack of experience I went into the last relationship expecting things to be very different. I would just like the opportunity to try again really, no more than any of the rest of us and I hope we all get it. :o

I'm going to try to cheer myself up now :D

    Take care
    Have a wonderful Monday everyone!
    xx :o

Of course you can call me Pinkie :o

True, if I get asked out by a guy that is semi-decent I will do. The last guy that asked me out was in Tesco and did look about 50 and was wearing cycling shorts, but I did appreciate the gesture. :rotfl:
