My DS has been reading them to me, lots of memories! Also remember a lot of the earlier mentioned books, included all the good old boarding school tales!0 -
I bought all the Famous five books with my spend, and loved every one, does anyone remember The secret of spiggy holes, i read it once along time ago, I tried getting a copy for my neice but it's out of print, I can't remember the story but if anyone finds a copy I'll buy it off you, my neice is too old for it now but I reckon I'm not, one of my teachers at school got me into reading Roald Dahl books, his tales of the unexpected are really good, and 2oz sweets there were too many to mention, loved most of them as well.
Sarah I'm sure they sell Fry's chocolate at Holland and Barratt.0 -
I forgot cos I've been catching up, if a lad sent me a text like that I would have replied, yes I'd love sex but not with you, but thanks for asking.0

*waves to eco*
Well it's monday and I am allowed to talk about cars again!

I Have taken the car to the garage, I took a book with me as I was prepared to wait a couple of hours, I have been there a couple of times and they generally do the work straight away if possible.
Told the man behing the counter what was happening, I tried to look all knowledgable with my list of things that might be wrong, he smirked at me like I was a small child who had recently learned some big words:mad:  . I hope it does turn out to be one of them so he can try feeling stupid for a while.
Anyway, he announced what he thought the problem was, can't remember the name of it- can only cope with so many big words per week:rolleyes: - and he priced it at £250-£300:eek:      He said I couldn't wait as it would be a while, so had to pay for a taxi
The driver talked and talked and talked all the way home.   I HATE THAT!

Oh Sarah,
that's carp news re the car
, hope the vanilla slice helps to restore some happiness
. I'm wading through a healthy bowl of soup at the moment, but dont be fooled; this is penance for having scoffed the chocolate reindeer I bought for DDs stocking
.
I'm seriously considering Rosa Bernicias course of action re learning to do car stuff. I want to know how to do it but not actually do it, dont like getting greasy  . Really I just want the knowledge so can tell smirky mechanics exactly what needs to be done
.
Hope you're back to whizzing around soon & no more vanilla slices

sarah it really is carp about the car, I don't know what I'd do about finding a decent garage if there wasn't a good one at the end of my road, I tend to ask my male friends for recomendations and i always mention were I got the recomendation and say so and so said you were really good, it paid off with the guy who came to fix my boiler, he turned up on time and the bill came in below his original estimate.
i'm at work and one of the lads has just been past my office and said are you eating again, so far this morning I've had 2 bags of hula hoops, 1 jordans muesli bar and 2 apples, I had porridge for breakfast, so don't ask me why I'm hungry, I can never understand those cereal ads that say it'll keep you full up till lunchtime.0 -
& no more vanilla slices
