Oh, this is me! Was always top of the class in primary school, moved to secondary school, couldn't cope with the competition and stopped trying, passed exams by the skin of my teeth, passed degree, also by the skin of my teeth (did the bare minimum). Am so disorganised. Do absolutely everything at the last minute. Had an appraisal at work recently. My boss, who is lovely, said, "You're like me, you do the absolute minimum to get by." He's right. If I can't be the best, I won't compete. My room is so untidy. I will tidy it, it's tidy for a couple of days, then all hell breaks loose. I read self help books. I think, "ooh, what a good idea." I can't keep it up. Am rubbish:o I don't know why. I shall look for a book on it.:D
I'm a bit like that at work. We did a big psychometric thing recently and it tells me that all my top skills are all 'thinking' ones. 9 of my top 10 talents are all in thinking related areas - nothing about actually doing anything
I think sometimes people leave things till the last minute for a bit of excitement at work. I was never like that at Uni when I was totally responsible for myself and my work, but at work, it all started with my placement year when I had next to nothing to do each week. I'd get maybe a pile of photocopying to do once a week, and I'd wait until 5.25 to start it  just to get a bit of a rush. Same thing kinda continued after I graduated and worked in an office where there really wasn't a lot to do except photocopy once or twice a week or deliver some reports. Rest of the time I was catatonic with boredom.
I find it really difficult to try and throw myself into work because I always ahve to rely on other people so it doesn't really matter if I'm keen or enthusiastic or not, as ultimately the answers I need to allow me to do the days work come from others so there are huge spells of the day spent waiting for people to get back to me so I can get on with things.
Outside work, I tend to be impulsive, take the bull by the horns, take control of situations, but in work, because I can only control a tiny part of the entire task, everything feels almost half-hearted because I can't control it.
God I sound like a control freak  but I'd rather be controlling my work rather than doing the little bits and bobs people drip feed to me.

Hi All,
The trouble with boots/shoes and trainers is there are too many different styles and colours , were as most lads will have 2 pair of shoes 1 black and 1 brown and a pair of trainers and be happy, but they really do transform an outfit.
Supposed to be working but I've hit a snag, it's called can't be bothered and time for another coffee.
Hope everyones having a great Tuesday and it'll soon be Friday, this weekend I'm going to Mansfield for my brothers birthday and I will pace myself with the drink I've been drunk too many times.0 -

Trainers are lart of my downfall! I own about, um, er, 50 pairs and only one pair of non-training shoes

But that's why we love them so much! I love choosing new shoes, I think for a man it must be a bit of a chore. I have a few pairs of shoes I can't even walk for more than 10 minutes in, they are so uncomfortable, but just wearing them gives me a lift. I like sticking out my feet and seeing lovely shoes!
