Hi Tony, nice of you to join us..we are going to need a lot of support i think in our aims .. good to hear from a mans perspective how it can be when you are single, in debt or not and in my case also not "settled" in life in general.

Have you joined any of the dating sites yet? what about work social events? any clubs or interests where you might meet someone interesting?

Welcome new folks! and Good Luck on the weight loss if you are joining in on that!

I love it when long time lurkers post, I always see that as a big step in itself :T

I've been thinking SarahB (yes I know that's a scary concept but sometimes my brain does need to wake up) and I think I am warming towards a Christmas goal. I am 15st 5lb atm (OMFG I SAID IT OUT LOUD so it must be true *cry*) if I could lose 20lb by Christmas that would make me 13st 13lb which I would be very happy with as I had been 16st 6lbs for the last 8 years

So to simplify that waffle down - can you change me to 20lbs not 50lbs please :rotfl:

    hi Tony,
course you can join us, I was beginging to feel like i was on my own been single, but reading everyone else's posts sure does help get things in perspective.
thanls Sarah for saying your jealous of me having dogs, it does have the advantage of me getting out and about but i seem to bump into all the local fruitcakes as well.
I have a tip for all those attempting the diet, try not to eat any supper, i always find it helps lose a pound or too, you'll want breakfast when you get up cos you'll be starving.

Evening everyone & hello Tony :hello:

Sarah, I am loving that title for our diet :D

but I'm a little wary of taking further advice from you after that GMT tip, I felt very ill this morning...but then again I havent wanted to eat too much so maybe it will work, certainly put me off Baileys for a while.

consumption so far today : 1 piece toast with marmite, 2 cups tea, 2 cups coffee, 1 bowl fruit n fibre, 1 bowl pasta + ham, tomatoes & cheese, 1 bowl chocolate & butterscotch icecream, 1 banana & 1 apple.

Also very cute guy from Southern Electric came round to offer me cheaper gas & elec, I accepted his offer & frankly he was that gorgeous I'd have accepted if it were more expensive :o

Gotta go do some sums so see you all later

Hi Tony and welcome!:hello: I was only thinking the other day that we need some men on this thread, if you have been following you will know that they do pop in, but we always somehow manage to lose them! I think everyone will totally understand what you say in your post, lots of support here. Glad to hear you like food and wine, two of my favourite things:smiley: How do you feel about shoes and bags?:D

  • I've only read the last page of this thread and I've been laughin my head off. I got dumped last week and used to enjoy being single and I'm looking forward to it again!! Lula ya made me laugh when ya said about that guy coming round and accepting what he had on offer. Sounds so much like what i'd do. I'm such a flirt, I pity every bloke 25-45 that passes my doorstep haha! ITs wierd tho coz I dont have alot of confidence so I dont know how i'm such a flirt!!

Anyways can I join your dodgy sounding diet club?? Like i'm not in enough, i go to slimming world and on the £ for lb thread also!! All a bit of fun I guess. Anyways I think my xmas target shall be 14lb. I've lost 2 and a half stone since April. Another stone would be fantastic!

I'll look forward to joining in this thread more :)
