Kids have been hell today, thought to be honest it's the first day in a while I've been at home all day with them, usually go to town or a friends house to break the monotony! I think that and the heat has made me world's grumpiest mummy. (Will watch out for those flying ants)
I am sooo knackered now. As soon as DS2 is in bed I will go on strike- don't know who will cook dinner!!

Hugs to everyone, a lot of you sound like you need one...

Mioliere, thanks for the link...the favours look lovely, really good. The pink champagne saucers are a stunning colour :D
I think I might get a bit of fabric and some ribbon and try a couple. My friend is visiting in a week or so, I might see if she likes the idea. As they already have a house, present ideas are difficult to come up with, this could be ideal.

Troo, big hugs....I am seriously thinking of banning plates etc from leaving the kitchen and I already refuse to wash anything that does not go in the laundry basket. As I don't have a washer at home, and only wash once a week, Miss Twit comes unstuck if she doesn't put it in the basket. :D evil mother!!!
I often think I would to live in a field in a caravan....one van each mind you. I would cook for them and they could collect it on paper plates. I'm sure I would live in a palace rather than the !!!!!! tip I currently call home.

They will look lovely on the tables, and the glasses what a good idea. You have made a lovely job of them, well done :A

We made something similar for DS2`s wedding, by we I mean brides mum and me,but we used sugared almonds in pink and white in a little plastic dish, with pink organza and white satin, tied with twisted pink and white ribbon. Went down a storm with the LO`s they had one each too, but jelly babies were in theirs:D

Troo I go with the majority....STRIKE.....unless there is somewhere you can disappear to for a couple of days;)
The..no bin..no wash does eventually work I tried it years ago on my 2 DS`s. It was a real disaster when they were off out with the latest squeeze, and horror:eek: no freshly laundered shirt, and no clean jeans :rotfl: :rotfl:

Take heart you will get through to them :A

    Evening everyone.

Been so hot and humid here today. Had a busy day. Met my DD this morning and had lunch with her. A close friend of hers drowned on Monday and she is devastated. I am really shocked and had just seen him on Monday. He was only 28.

Im a volunteer meeter and greeter at the local hosp so did that this afternoon. Then went to DDs for a cuppa before coming home.

SnowyOwl Hope the new job went well.

Candy Hope you enjoy Mama Mia. Im hoping to see it next week.

Pippa.S Hugs for you and your friend

Beethebee Hugs for you and you DB.

Rage in Eden Good luck with the scans.

    troo Big hugs

Hugs for anyone else who needs them.

Not had chance to read the thread and not sure if I will, but just wanted to pop on and say hi and send you all hugs!

Home a little late from work today but have tidied the bedroom and the kitchen, and had chicken with fennel and courgette for tea, was very nice. Still got to make lunch for tomorrow, must do it tonight, I've got out of the habit lately and I hate doing it in the morning, today I bought lunch instead. :o

I'm quite excited cos my laithwaites wine order arrived today:T. £40 plus £7 delivery for 12 bottles plus 3 free = £3.13 per bottle plus a free corkscrew that I'll try to sell on ebay. :D

Have a good evening and a great night's sleep everyone!!

Troo - big big hugs to you. I remember a lovely lady on here who encouraged us to go on strike from time to time - time for you to do a Tru Troo. As a matter of fact I have had a very interesting chat with middle dd this evening who tells me that i do too much for little dd and that I should leave her to her own devices more and make her do more housework. she's right of course but I nearly pmsled as this was the same dd who used to threaten to call childline if asked to wash up so much as a teaspoon. her son is much better trained though and at 4yo can load and start the washing machine, hang washing on the airer and take his rubbish and washing up out. The problem with me is that I did everything at home from the age of 9 as my mother was mostly tired and emotional so I've gone too much the other way in wanting my children to have a "proper" childhood

dd has elected to stay at her dsis's for another night so I'm home alone again - yay

Finally got Mr Caringsharing to commit to coming to the solictors on Friday to get a travel letter for dd's canada trip witnessed. He has put a lot of effort in this month trying to convince me that it's not necessary but dsis and exbil would prefer it to be done properly - it will take five minutes and cost a fiver. He STILL hasn't sent off his passport application for his and dd's trip to France on the 20th August. Still not to worry it's not like they're on strike or anything
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008
