    Afternoon peeps
I`m fresh back from the shops and it`s so warm i feel shattered.
Got some bargains though, i went mainly for grass seed but came back with lots of bags as there seem to be sales on everywhere, i also bought some of the copper tape to help with slugs as they seem to be getting used to the garlic concoction that i`ve been spraying everything with  hopefully this will stop me having to sneak around in the garden at 1am in my nightie and a torch with the salt:rotfl:
The new cake tin and pie dishes were all reduced too and in the pound shop i bought some of the takeaway style plastic dishes for the freezer at 5 for £1 and a huge bottle of fairy with 25% extra free for £1 so i`m feeling quite pleased as i`ve saved quite a bit. I also bought a nice top in the sale for a fiver for my hols.

melvis i`m glad that you`re counting the days to your holiday as it makes it easier for me to remember when we go (2 days before you) I hope that we don`t get stuck on the M5 for hours though like last year.

Beethebee - (((((hugs))))) for you as Kathy said you are being a huge help by being on the other end of the phone.

I`m going to set the pc up to scan with all the apps now and run and do some chores so i`ll catch up later.
    Have a lovely afternoon guys!

  • Hello everybody :hello: and taplady - yet another :bdaycake: I'm 42 as well (but alas not for much longer). Going to the hospital today and still in pain so rang in work and told them I wouldn't be in - lead balloon moment. Well, they saw how much pain I was in yesterday so they can't think I'm swinging the lead (but probably do). Have to write out my pain diary in a mo - I've only kept details of when it was really bad so I'll have to make sure the consultant understands that. Feeling really fed up actually - just feel like giving up work altogether to get out of the atmosphere I get when I get back. Still looks like I've sold another couple of things on e-bay :j not bad considering all my items close tomorrow as I've got loads of stalkers as well - COME ON BID!!! Don't know what to do for dinner as I have no interest in food at all (yet conversly am not losing weight - that might have something to do with the brain tablet I've been on but now I've been switched to another I'm hoping the weight will drop off :rotfl: ). Right, best go and feed the budgies who are screeching like crazy! Might even go mad and put the washing on as well - steady now....
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

redruby - so sorry to hear about the dogs, we lost 2 of our 3 dogs about 10 years ago to poison, DH came home from the night shift to find them dead in the kitchen(I was away on holiday at the time) only the big lurcher survived. It was devastating.(((hugs))) to your sister.

Chrisca - hope you get your mums paperwork sorted (((hugs)))

Catowen - my sons were exactly the same - never put the effort in when they were quite capable, it must be a boy thing!

    Mrs_Mix - :hello:

    (((hugs))) to betheebee x

have finished the milkround - was beautiful out in the countryside this morning, am just having a rest before getting out in the garden.

    Afternoon all,

Nice and warm here to-day...BBQ for dinner later...means that OH will cook and I can just eat!

Happy birthday Taplady:bdaycake:42...aaah yes I remember it well!

Hester...an acquaintance of mine has kept the wolf from the door for years by writing two 'Mills and Boon' type books a year...the family business has had huge financial problems ...I don't know her well enough to ask her how she went about it in the first place, but would certainly be worth your while making enquiries, I think that you have a real writing talent, and lots of material from the Katy days!

Redruby...so sorry to hear about your sister's dogs, trust that they will recover.

Catowen...I know that it is hard not to be concerned when a clever child is not making an effort...he will be fine, sometimes they just need to 'find' themselves...

Pippa...hugs to your friend, she is having a rough time

Celyn...good for you that you could keep your mouth shut through the homeopathy...and take the medication...good luck with the Mr Jekyll battle.

Betheebee...hugs to you for the rough time you and your brothers are having.

Mioliere...good luck with the favours...wouldn't attempt anything like that myself...too dainty for my awkward hands.

Christening here on Sunday, DD2 and family gone to Cork to visit her DPs family back Friday night and no planning done for the food after christening...trying to do a little prep which can go in freezer if she doesn't want it.

    Have a good day all

    Helloooo all :hello:

    Happy birthday taplady :bdaycake:
SnowyOwl I thought you said you were 29 :naughty::naughty::naughty:;)
((candygirl)) ((anniestar)) ((betheebee)) ((poorly doggies)) ((anybody I've forgotten))

Boss is away on holiday for 2.5 weeks now, and I'm struggling to motivate myself even though I'm really busy!

Of the £37 worth of stuff I picked up in Next on Monday, £24 worth of it doesn't fit, so am off up there at lunchtime to return it. I'm left with a £10 pair of jeans (didn't really need more jeans, but they're a FABULOUS fit) and a £3 set of three miniature piggy banks which are going to come in handy for moneysaving somehow, I'm sure of it...

Must pop to Tesco and Aldi this evening for a few odds and ends. Making another shepherd's pie this evening as I had enough ingredients for two, and I have some mushrooms which urgently need using up so that'll either be a risotto or part of a sausage casserole. The shepherd's pie is a yummy Gordon Ramsay recipe off the Channel 4 website. The mash has two egg yolks in it, so I think I'll take the opportunity to knock up some mini meringues with the leftover egg whites :)

Other than that, nothing much to report... concerts were good last night (the late one was better than the early one).

    Love Rzl xx

ugh its cooking here today, hate hot weather!

dh keeps closing the windows, got a fan going up in the kids bedroom but he says its better with the windows shut, still no cooler in their bedroom!

and lo has been in the wars again today, dh took him down to asda to get some milk as we dont have any, took him out the car, slid the door shut, but lo put his finger in the door just as it was shutting and there was blood everywhere:eek:

quite a bad cut on his 2nd finger, took him up to the hospital bit of our dr's and lo just went wild, wouldnt let the nurse see to his finger, dh had to hold him down, the cut looked horrid and i was feeling very light headed, still feeling a bit sick yet!

she cleaned it etc but have to see the dr pretty shortly as she said since he is young it needs to be checked out properly, but dr wasnt there when we went up.

right about this time last year that he broke his arm(twice)! never had this with my other 2 boys:eek:

catowen - glad sports went well, as for the reports well my 2 are the same ds1 has great reports while ds2 could do better blah blah, just the way it is i think

    Afternoon all.

TAPLADY: A rather late Happy Birthday

REDRUBY: Hugs and healing thoughts for the poor dogs

I seem to get later and later getting online; I really do have to get my act together! Mr LW is on Late shift today, so won't be home til getting on for 19:30. He's already phoned me twice today. I'm sure he doesn't trust me not to do something daft if he doesn't check on me regularly:rotfl: Admittedly, I did once try to put the recycling in the WM instead of the shed, and the washing in the fridge instead of the WM, but I haven't had a lupie moment like that for a while. ( Hope I'm not tempting fate by saying that.....)

Anyway, a Wolfy (((hug))) for anyone wanting/needing one.

    Catch you later.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
