rage in Eden - how lovely to have such a supportive consultant! Hope he can get you better soonest! (((HUGS)))
Betheebee - as others have said, you are being a great support to your DB just by being there when he needs you (((HUGS)))
Hardup Hester, as others have said, you are very far from thick! If you have time, you could maybe look into writing for magazines to begin with - you are such a talented writer! in the meantime, I hope you have a more peaceful Summer and manage to relax with some sewing. (((HUGS))) to you as well!0 -
Rage in Eden - good luck with the scans.
Pippa - sending lots of (((hugs))); such bad news to bear for everyone.
Ivyleaf - if it's the Remoska you wanted to know about, yes, I am using it most days (although last night's homemade chips were not successful! It does oven chips well but not my own!); everything else has been really good. I've only had it about three weeks now; I bought it from Lakeland who are the only retailers at the moment. I am following recipes in the booklet that came with it and, if you log on to the Lakeland site itself, there is a link to horrayforhomecooking which is dedicated to the Remoska. I bought it because it is definitely energy saving; it does everything your main oven or grill will do but for a fraction of the energy, plus it's far easier to clean than either the oven or the grill! The only thing it won't do is boil. There is a thread on here about Remoskas, too, with lots of ideas and advice - it's where I got the bee in my bonnet about getting one before the energy costs go even higher! I want to try a casserole in it but my DH would not appreciate one in this hot weather! I am VERY pleased with it and would not be without it now!

Well I give up, everything I do is a waste of time.
If I say something, all the troos pretend to listen but immediately forget. If it's anyone else, they remember it.
The teen troos act like 5 year olds, I tell them every day to bring washing-up down - we had a mice problem, got it sorted but now they're back cos of dirty plates left lying around - throw rubbish in the bin, dirty clothes into basket etc. and every day it's like they've never heard it before and I'm saying it for the first time.
Mr troo would prefer me a bit slimmer, non-smoking and working full-time. So he'd actually like someone who isn't me then - if I change just one of those things ie. work then I won't have time to grow veg, make and sell crafty things and look after the animals properly, they'd have to go cos I can't leave them locked up in a house all day, it's not fair on them. I'd have to give up my part-time job too.
Donny-gal, thanks so much for offering me your scanner, I really appreciate it. But I think it'd be better if you kept it for someone who will get a lot of use out of it. The way I'm feeling right now, I don't even know where I'll be working and I'll probably pack the crafts in (if things carry on, I don't even know where I'll be living TBH). I've struggled since the beginning of Jan to get things off the ground properly, and now I finally feel like I'm on the edge of big changes, earning more money etc. and I've been shot down and it was all a waste of time.I am a coffee bean0 -
Mummysaver, don't know where you are but there were millions of flying ants round here this morning
Ugh, horrible things!!!
((((((betheebee, pippa.s, troo))))) and all those feeling low today.
Anniestar, wondering how you & Phoebe are?
Lola & Nino slowly settling in, still not eating/drinking very much (but some). Nino spends all his time under beds - he obviously feels safe there. They are both very affectionate when they're feeling brave though. Still strange getting used to having cats around again - but nice

troo....why can't I send you a pm????
I know it's tough not being appreciated but they do really. They, like most families just rely on you so much without even knowing it. Without you they would flounder. Take it easy on yourself and if all else fails, do a "Haribo" (you'll need to pm me for details
)

I can't see your pics Kathy but I'm sure they're lovely. xx0 -
Oh, Troo - I'm sending massive (((hugs))) to you. It sounds like such a battle for you.

urrgh, we had loads too and we are not so far from you, my back step was literally crawling with them, I am afraid I turned the hose on them, as I did not want them coming in the house.
Troo, hugs to you hun, I do know how you feel, we probably all do, but I am sure your family do appreciate you, I think they just become lazy and forget to tell you, perhaps you should 'accidentally' leave your post open for them to see, huggles xx0 -
Evening all
Well we sort of finished at 12:30, but then we had the 'goodbye buffet' so we didn't leave til 3:30, by which time there wasn't a dry eye left in the house, even the head cried when he said thanks to his secretary. Even I got 4 special mentions, so I was chuffed.
Tomorrow I plan to do NOTHING all day, Friday I shall got to Lidle & Aldi to stock up, after that I'll just see what turns up.
Hugs to Troo, Cat please don't worry about your son, he will knuckle down when he's ready, Hugs to Candy, Mrs Mix, Smokey & anyone I've forgotten.
Have a good evening.
Hugs Hester
