Just have a family meeting and let them know what you will and will not do and stick to it

you will have to turn away from dirty dishes and all sorts but if you can do it it does work, when they want to bring their friends around they soon clear up

    Hello again,

First - THANK YOU for all the comments re DS, you have made me feel a bit better about it - yesterday i was in a right tizz, how do you get through to an 11 yo that obviously has so much talent that he is just wasting it all!!! Im sure the new start at the new school will help.

Also another huge THANK YOU to Bargain Rzl for her help on the travel board for me - ive now booked a hotel and we will be coming to London on the 12th August - so if anyone will be around then (or the 13th) it would be lovely to meet up, will have to liase with Shez when she gets back from her hols!!

Had a really lazy morning - spent it entering comps and researching hotels. I booked via Quidco, so hopefully will get some extra cashback. We are def spoiled down here with our hotel prices, half the price of London!!!

Have a busier day tomorrow, one LO here all day, then the 2 LOs who are here from 2 -4. I also have a big one to collect from school, along with DD, but DS has a BBQ to go to after school, as it is their last day. Its also the leavers service at the church, but i cant go, which i am a bit upset about, but it wouldnt be fair to make the LOs sit through it.

So, one more day of school then its the holidays!!! I love the holidays and having my 2 home, and not having to make the packed lunches for 6 weeks will be great too!

OK, thats me done, really tired tonight, so might have an early night with a book!!

Taplady - hope you had a lovely day, especially after your early start!!

Troo - time for another 'Tru' me thinks!!!

Pixiedust - Hope LOs finger is ok now!!

Hester - i echo what others have said, reading your blogs def shows you are not thick!!!!

((HUGS)) to all those who are unwell, sad or just want one!! sorry to all those ive missed again, its not intentional!!

    Have a lovely evening,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi all - Whatatwit and Pippa, thanks for the lovely comments about my wedding favours - it's great to get other people's opinions! I thought of doing sugared almonds because that is traditional but when I suggested Love Hearts DS2 and his bride really liked the idea. I still have lots to do, though, and time is rapidly running out. It's all the housework that gets in the way, isn't it?!

Well, off to do a bit of knitting while I watch Bird on a Wire on ITV2 - Goldie Hawn for DH and Mel Gibson for me!

    See you all later.

    Hi Folks

Know this maybe isnt exactly OS but just reading some posts and realised that some of us maybe feel a bit low or are having a not so good day (me included in there!) and I was trying to think of what has made me smile today..........anyway once I started trying I thought of lots of things, little things that to others may seem like nothing but to me made a huge difference! Couldnt possibly just list one so some of the things that have made me smile are.................

1 - Waking up next to my darling hubby and in that just awake morning style him telling me that he loved me.
2 - Singing on my way to work at the top of my voice and secretly sniggering at the guy in the car beside me who looked pretty amused!
3 - Seeing an old man in B&Q sat on a patio display reading his paper
4 - My darling neice who is 4 months greeting me with a smile after work
5 - Coming home after a really horrible day when my family seems to be falling apart around me and realising that as long as I have my DH thats all the love an comfort that I need.

Just realising all of this has made me feel lots better!

So come on.............what has made you smile today?

    Linz

(sorry if this post isnt in the right place, please feel free to move it!)
Its hard to wait around for that something you know may never happen, but its harder to give up when you know its everything you ever wanted.........

People tell me Im going the wrong way..............when its simply a way of my own!

    Hi Linz

I think this is very old stlye, appricating the little things.

1> having a few hours with DD. as at nearly 13 this has become a rare thing
2> Having DS give me a big hug without there being an I want to it.
3> Being able to make my friend smile, just by giving her some of my hm muffins.
4> dancing around my bedroom to Oasis, live forever and singat the top of my voice

Well these were the moment that have stood out for me today:D :D

    Good night all

    1. Being directed to the FLYlady website and discovering I'm not as beyond help as I thought, and shining my sink! Even if I am now upset because it is once again full of greasy water and washing up I know will be left to soak for days if I don't take it out.
    2. This one is a bit iffy (because the sink thing has really p*ed me off!!) but reminding myself that in just over 5 weeks the sink-dirtying lodger will be out of my house for good and I can reclaim control!
    3. A story a friend told me about how he got very drunk at a Christmas party and poured a whole pint over the Director of his company... and got away with it!
I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right
