Dentist was fine - no problems, which was good - she even x-rayed my slightly spotty tooth (it's been like that since it grew) to check it was okay. Very impressed.
meanmarie - I've just learnt the art of bemused silence with the homeopathy. OH's mum has a little metal wand she waves over food to see if it is okay for her to eat it. Cue us being told what is safe/right for us to eat - the houseplants seem to be thriving on a diet of Actimel, so no worries there. Must be all the friendly bacteria.
Whilst I'm willing to be open minded about these things to a certain extent, she is truly as mad as a box of frogs sometimes. :rotfl: :staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -

None of this talk of being "thick!"
You are resourceful, creative, kind, responsible, thoughtful and a hell of a good writer!!!
Have had another low carb day but strangely enough I am not thin yet! lol!;)
Have made a hair appointment for DD for next week so she is happy and need to think about things my 14 year old would like to do in the holidays.
Might take her for a girly 2 days in London and then later on somewhere that she has not visited before.
Hugs to everybody."This site is addictive!"

Catowen my 2 sons are so different too, DS1 was ok at school but DS2 did`nt want to know, both left school with good qualifications. DS1 now has a very good job with an IT company.DS2 did an aprenticeship as a carpenter, passed all his exams with distinctions, gave it up at 22, and started his own business, he is a car fanatic so he started a garage and workshop, and now at 37 he has 2.

Afternoon all!
Haven't posted for a few days or even got near the computer, went away for the weeked to see an old friend I used to work with, and have been trying to catch up ever since! Had a fab time, we met up with loads of other old pals and had a ball. Off to stay with her again in Sept as going to a concert, yippee, nice to have things to look forward to.
BM, WM and DW have all been busy, isn't it lovely to be able to put stuff on the line though without worrying whether it'll rain when you pop out, or is that just me not really having a life!
Been into town this afternoon to collect stuff for ds, got attacked by flying ants, they were everywhere, it was horrible. but did ds care that I'd risked life and limb, did he heck! Now sitting in the garden with a cuppa before dd's all arrive home.
Dinner for kids will be garlic chicken done on the barbie and couscous that I made up a min ago, with some cucumber from very cheap green grocer almost next to Mr T's, half the price and twice the size. And any salad leaves that are still edible, need to plant a few more as current batches seem to have gone to seed.
I shall be off to w**k later, last night for this week though, so not too bad. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the day xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Ivyleaf - you've got me really intrigued, now!
Sorry, I still can't remember
....I think it was about the Remoska, you seem to be using it for just about all your cooking atm? Is it quite new and you're busy trying it out, finding out what it can do? It must be quite energy-saving, I'd guess!

Whatatwit - I hope this works; I have posted photos of the wedding favours on our Wooligans group so here are the links:

I think it worked. I've just taken piccies of two of each favour for now. The two pink champagne glasses are for the bride and groom, the favours with the gold rims are for the top table and everyone else will get the plain net ones! They all have Love Hearts in them (very difficult to make when you keep wanting to eat them!). You wouldn't think these have been about six months in the making, would you? I'd be glad of your opinion and please don't spare my feelings!

I feel a bit up and down today, my friend who`s husband died some weeks ago, rang to tell me her mother died while we were away last weekend, she had a severe stroke and never regained conciousness.
I am worried about her she has had a lot to bear over the last few weeks, first her husband died, and the week after his funeral her friend died and now, 4 weeks later her mother.
I better go the tears are flowing.

aww hugs to you hun, sorry to hear you are feeling down xx
Just in from work, not too bad today, got loads done, and I will not see my boss for 5 weeks now
.
The girls were fine on their own today, I popped back at lunchtime, and they were making biscuits, and had been taking photos of the long suffering, and thankfully, beautifully tempered dog
, by the time I got back at 3 they had eaten all the biscuits, and my dd hugged me and told me she loved me, I was looking around to see what she had broken
, but its really nice that she will still do that in front of her mates. They are still in their PJ's and have eaten nothing but bisciuts all day, lets hope she does not tell her mum
Going to have a cool bath in a mo, then wait for OH to get in, and we are all off down the beach for fish and chips, and a run around, I dont think the girls have been outside all day
princess pixiedust ( that takes much longer to type than kyle
) hope lo's finger is ok.

News on dogs is that the son is marginally better, but his mum is still the same, thanks for all the good wishes, xx

Rage in Eden - hope the hospital goes well x there's a fair few of us who are 42 so it seems:D 1966 - world cup year!:j
Actually my parents were psychic as I'm 1965 (42 for only 7 more weeks - boo hoo!). Consultant not happy I am getting hassle at work and told me to tell them to "cope with it" - oooooh he's got a handbag!!!:rotfl: Anyway, outcome is I am to have an MRI - so that's 2 I'm now having - one on my tummy and one of my brain. Feel a lot better now I know something is happening. He said that if work get very upset I can tell them to write to him and he'll just write back saying (a) I am undergoing investigations and (b) I am coping remarkably well with the problem but if I am ill then I am ill (and also pointing out that you don't get admitted via A&E for an ingrowing toenail) - he was quite annoyed (which was nice to see to be quite honest). Well, that's it. I may take some more photos for e-bay stuff for tomorrow and plan a ncie relaxing bath tonight. But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green

I don't know about Actimel but when I was in my early teens my Mum used to try and force oxtail soup (the packet version) down me. Didn't like it so I used to spoon it around her prized collection of African Violets. They loved it and she was estatic that they were covered in flowers. Then one day she smelt the beefy aroma that they do not naturally give off and I was forced to confess.......:oBut I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green
