Bank Charges Financial Hardship Disussion

I have been chasing Natwest for £1670 (not including interest) since June 07. After the last announcement of another 6 month hold I decided I had to go down the hardship route. I filled out all the forms they sent me and rang twice, this morning I was told I was sent out a letter of acceptance on 22nd May 09 (second post) and should recieve it in the next two days. I was unable to find out over the phone how much it was for but I was told that as the account was closed long ago I would be sent out a cheque if I decide to accept the offer. If I dont decide to accept then I can carry on waiting for the decision. I hope this helps other claimers who are left in the dark by the banks. I will let you kno how much they offer & if I decide to accept!0

After filing my claim again under the financial hardship rules in March and a wait for a further 10 weeks, I received a letter from Abbey saying they will pay into my account £4220 of charges!!! MAJOR RESULT........although I'm still waiting for the funds to arrive, this is a huge step forward!!
Thankyou Martin, and I will post again when funds arrive! :rotfl:
Which bank were you with btw?0 -
SUCCESS!!! WOO WOO :j
Just opened the letter from Nat West offering me £4,951 - as i only claimed for about £2,800 i think this is a quality result. I've sent the acceptance form back and the money will be credited to my account within 21 days (but having spoken to the lady who deals with it she said it would most likely only take 3 days from receipt of form).
Thanks for the help on this site - if i can help anyone out i will.0 -
hi. my 18 yr old daughter had a £100 overdraft which she exceeded by 2 purchaces of £2.47 and £3.20. she received a letter saying that she would incur charges of £35 on 6th June and £28 at the month`s end. They haven`t been taken out yet and I don`t want her to have to fight to retrieve them later as she starts uni sept. Can she stall the charges until a judgement on their fairness is made?0

Barclays Bank Reclaim
Amount reclaiming: Uknown still!!
I rang Barclays in April requesting a copy of my Bank Charges and was sent a budget planner on 3rd May asking to complete. So, I completed it and sent it back then got a letter on 13th May saying I would have a decision within 10 working today, which is today.
I have been calling every other day to make a pain of myself and keep them on their toes, and today is 10th day, so I called this morning and was told there was no update, so I called back at 17.00 tonight and was told someone was actually looking at my claim as we spoke and would be calling me within 5 minutes.
An hour later and no call, so I just called them back and was told a letter was on its way to me with my bank charges (which was requested 7 weeks ago!) but still no decision.
So, I asked to speak to a manger who told me that due to the fact that they are inundated with claims on financial hardship they now have a huge back log and need more time to assess them all.
So I asked what the timeframe was now for an answer and was told they cant give me one as they have just said in the letter 'asap'. I said I wasnt happy to be told I would get a reply today and then not get one, but she said there is nothing I can do to speed it up and would just need to be patient!!!!
Its not looking good....has anyone else had problems with getting an answer from Barclays and what can I do now???0 -
I chased up my claim today wit Nationwide as I had sent the I&E form off 2 weeks ago. I was told that my claim was in mandate?????? and I would receive a letter soon. What does that mean. I asked the lady what it meant and she said that she didn't know and the only people that did were the hardhsip team. I thought I was talking to the hardship team. So I will sit and wait for my letter.0
