I contacted the Ombudsman several weeks ago and think that is why I finally got a call, but it was bad news unfortunately. I was told that I'd have to wait until the end of the test case.
Any ideas where I could go from here? Is it likely that the Ombudsman could get Yorkshire bank to overturn this decision? I think things are looking pretty bleak. I just wish I had put my claim in 6 months earlier, i'd have been paid out ages ago.0 -
Well mine has. I have priority debts along with 11 creditors, severe rent arrears which have resulted in the council applying for a possession order, i'm still working but my salary has dropped from £30k to £16k and i also have a wife and child to support with a baby due in september.
Surely when you've cut back on everything right down to the bone and you've still got a £326 a month financial deficit it qualifies as hardship.
Even if it does, Lloyds aren't exactly famous for their customer care and willingness to compensate claimants.LBM -
DFW - January 2010 = £22,950
DFD - July 2017 = £0

I've today posted the letter claiming hardship along with copies of all the charges. I've got an Income/Expenditure list here but i'm not sending it until they ask for it, which is a nigh on certainty.
Original claim went in around April 2007, but with the waiver i didn't follow it up. Now with my circumstances changing i'm firing on all cylinders again.
I have copies of all my statements which show the evident 'snowballing' effect of the charges being applied.
Like i explained in my letter to them, if i'm already on a tight budget, and i have £70 charges applied to my account, how am i supposed to find that £70 out of thin air without missing a payment on another bill? The answer is I can not.
I am claiming for £5,874 over 2 accounts. Originally filed the claims seperately but those people at Andover combined the complaints into one including both accounts.LBM -

Hi all, I have done the hardship claim with Natwest, and after following all the letters and guidelines from here I received a letter last week saying my case has been acccepted as one of hardship and I would receive an offer shortly(still waiting!) They also said any debt recovery would be stopped but I have since had letters from their debt recovery people, so unsure about that.
Also they said they would contact me if I accepted the offer when t had been paid into the above account, but the account they are referring to has been frozen and defaulted so I have no access to it? Can just ask them tosend me a cheue if the offer does finally turn up and assuming I choose to accept that offer?2012 wins: meal out for 2, bouquet of flowers, bracelet, dress0 -

I have phoned them up and they answered the uestions as follows.
1. The actual offer wl take 5 -7 days so I should receive it by the end of this week.
2. With regard to the account, the offer would have to clear the outstandng arrears on it, so it would go in there, then the extra would be forwarded as a cheque. This is fine with me as over 98% of the outstanding debt on that account is charges, and if the offer is even half of what I applied for that would stlll eave me wth a healthycheque.
3. Now this is the wierd part, they stated there is no recovery company chasing me for the monies??? Hmmm wierd but I couldn't put my hands straight on the letter and had my 3 yr old dragging at me.
So I have decided to seeexactly what the offer says then sort out from there with regard to the debt recovery people and be better prepared when I phone them up in that regard.2012 wins: meal out for 2, bouquet of flowers, bracelet, dress0 -

hi there
i'm new to these threads so i hope it reaches the people who need to claim hardship
i applied to clydesdale bank last september for £5000 of bank charges
i then wrote to them again in january regarding hardship payments. I wrote to them again 4 weeks ago and emailed them 2 weeks ago
I received a call on friday and the advisor told me that they had sent me a check twice which in the first instance had been returned to them and in the 2nd instance - lost in the post. he then told me that i would receive a payment within 7 days. I asked him how much the payment was for and he told me £842. i then asked if i could decline this as i felt that it was unfair and would only make a dent on my financial situation.
The advisor told me that the decision had already been made (based on my financial situation
i am still waiting on cheque which i would like to decline and fight my corner for more but i'm wary that it will take too long and i might end up with nothing
Anyway, it is still good that there is some movement in my case
Dig your heels in and keep fighting0
