  • Thanks, I will certainly try this tack, anything is worth a go. Are you saying that I should fill in another CFS? I have filled one in once before, on the last request.
Also, I'm not sure of the number, but the one I called before (used to be an 0800, but the new 0845 number is given out as a message on the 0800 number), had staff members telling me that they couldn't deal with me as my account was closed. You and I spoke about this a couple of months ago, and I think there was confusion, as someone else was talking to you at the same time, and there was confusion between our two cases.
Anyway thanks for the advice, it's always welcome

  • Bekki, the number and details are the one I got from HSBC Customer Relations manager ;).

As you can see I am slowly honing my skills dependent on the bank concerned.

I am currently having various discussions because the most important thing for claimants is to get the right information and to provide the right information for a decision to be made and that helps you and everyone else.

i have put in a reclaim for bank charges and like everyone else is awaiting the result, because of the mess that i owe the bank i cancelled all d.d etc, but they keep charging on my charges and my debt is growing. went to bank and they wont acceppt what i wanted to pay and now im getting letters saying they will transfer my debt to collection agency. when i try phoning regarding the letters they just want a ridiculous amount back and there is no way i can afford it , i just started work p.t recently but am still struggling and very stressed about it. what can i do , can they send me to collections or do they allso have to await result of the case , please please some advice. its the abbey and thy wont freeze account or deal with hardship

You do know that the bank are only allowed to charge you if it's your fault... if they charge you for going overdrawn when they take a bank charge, that's their fault and they cannot charge you for the overdraft that they have caused.

Interesting hypothesis, have you a single piece documentary evidence to back this up.
  • Ive just recently been offered £2537 from RBS after following my bank charges claim with the fact I am in financial hardship. My original claim was for £4280.01. I rang RBS to see if they are willing to negotiate the offer before I go to the FSO and they said no so I have now written them a letter saying that I will be willing to accept £4100. If they are not willing to do this then I was planning to write to them again asking for them to reconsider before I go to the FSO-I would just like to know what people think about the route I am taking here?
Also on top of the above case I also have another account with RBS were the claim is for £5987.67 and they offered £5013 so I have done the same as above and asked for a settlement of £5900.
I would be happy to hear anyones opinion

Take the money. Any offer cannot be a 'full and final' settlement, the balance will be paid (assuming the judgement goes against them) at the conclusion of the OFT test case

Might be worth a call and see if they require copies of arrears notices that you have
