Well, the sun has finally shown its face here, a bit late in the day, but its lovely anyway.
Boss has not rung me yet. I know he must have been back into yard and seen my note grrrrrrrrrr. Will have to send an email instead, just hope I get paid for the hours I have done, not my fault there was no work.
BusyGirl - have a great time in Australia, remember if you don't send us the pics Aussie willI know what you mean about Mamma Mia, its such a 'feel good' film isnt it?
Ta Pippa.S, like you said, nice to be remembered :rotfl:
Melvis - good luck in your tidying and finding things for spending money. I really need to put some stuff on ebay, have taken the photos but its mainly OH's stuff so need him here to help me with description. Oh we also have a car to put on and I just don't do cars. If left up to me I would put, 'green car, roof comes down' :rotfl:
On the ironing thing, I've got a press, sometimes I do everything, sheets and all, but if I have done bedding and nothing else I sorta think, can't be bothered to get press out, so I fold it very carefully and hope for the best. Same with OH's work clothes, if I have the press out I will do them, otherwise I tend to think, he just sticks it in his holdall so it would be creased anyway by the time he gets it out, but on the otherhand I do like him to look like he belongs to someone. We have a running joke about this as when I moved in with him he said it was because he wanted an 'ironing fairy'whoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Haha ... I'm the same! Except OH has car parts that he wants me to list! And keeps asking me if I've done them ... erm, No! I don't know what half of them are :rotfl:Small business owner 🧵 Ex MSE comper 🏆 Student loan repayer 💴 Romanian dog rescuer 🐕 Hopefully a cost of living survivor 🤞🏻0 -
BusyGirl Have a wonderful holiday....ooo Australia how lovely.....
You have made my mind up about Mama Mia, I was undecided about it but now, I reckon I will go see it:D
Where you off to on your Sun holiday melvis ?
We have done a few of those and found them really good, havent had a bad one yet :T
We went on one in June but have`nt booked one this time, I have a priority form that my friend wanted to use but she has changed her mind, I was so  someone else could have used it if she had let me know earlier, I did`nt find out until last night, and its probably too late now.
Well after a dull start this morning it turned out really warm here, when I got into the car it was boiling, and O lucky me, I could`nt open the window, the motor had stopped working

I only booked mine the night before last and used a priority code someone nicely gave me in the Sun Holiday thread on the Freebies board, so it should still be usable (if that's even a word!?)
We're going to Newquay ... OH and I with another couple we know. Going on 22nd September and i really can't wait, I/we really need the break ... hence the counting down! I have two weeks of work even though we're only away for 5 days of it :jSmall business owner 🧵 Ex MSE comper 🏆 Student loan repayer 💴 Romanian dog rescuer 🐕 Hopefully a cost of living survivor 🤞🏻0 -
just got in from work. DD1 (14) has had a tantrum and ended up accidentally whacking her head and cutting her eyebrow open. so I've had to sort that not to mention having to get the blood out her new clothes:mad:
OH has taken DD1 and DD2 shopping 'for something to do' if he keeps doing that over the 6 weeks hols its going to cost a bomb:mad: (he is a teacher so has same hols as them whereas i work throughout)
have not had time to read the thread but I will as soon as peace reigns
hope everyone has had a good day x0 -
Hi. hope its ok to join this thread. Im usually to be found on the Flylady thread and a bit of a lurker on DFW.
Its been red hot here today. Got out into my garden which has turned itself into a bit of a wild one. Poppies have started growing and a couple of other wild flowers one of which I think is cranebill.
Ive been OSing for a while now. I retire next year so am trying to get my debts paid off and save money. I have 1 DD 2 GSs and 2 GGDs.
Been to see my mum who is in a home. She is 91 soon and still smokes:eek:
Look forward to getting to know you all.
Happy Birthday Snowy:bdaycake:0 -
Hello! :hello:
Abit of a late one for me today. I started reading the thread this morning but then had to go shopping (cut DH and I spending ages in Sainsbug's scrutinising labels - he need breakfast cereal and wanted a change from the Shreded Wheat he had last week, but all his favourites have too much sugar in them. He's really meant to have porridge or All-Bran, or muesli as long as it doesn't have many raisins in it! Poor love, he has such a sweet tooth. He chose Rice Crispies in the end, as at least they don't have much sugar. It's astonishing how many things have sugar in them when you wouldn't expect it! No wonder the country has a weight problem, when so many so-called "Healthy Options" have loads of sugar!
DH a bit upset atm as he's just found out his debit card has been cloned again, for the second time in a year! Last time the fraudsters started off by using small amounts to top up their mobile phones, before ending up spending £90 on ASDA Home Delivery. This time, they've waded straight in by buying computers at Dell and ASOS, and a big shop at Tesco:mad:   Flaming cheek! I thought "Chip and PIN" was meant to be secure!
Congratulations SnowyOwl, what a great birthday present!
And Congrats to Pooky's DH too!
Mioliere - how annoying when people don't RSVP! I think they just assume you'll know they'll come:rolleyes:
Catznine, Catowen, Stefejb, VickyA, Bargain Rzl, Mrs_mix, Shez :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello:
Welcome to our new posters
((((HUGS)))) to all who need some.
All for now
Best wishes

Evening all,
Happy Birthday Snowy:bdaycake: and congratulations on the job....sure that you will be much better now at 29 than you were at 9!
Mioliere...agree with you about lack of RSVP...no harm to make contact as sometimes things don't arrive.
Ragz...congratulations on cheque!
Busygirl...enjoy Oz...seems a little cooler now than when I was there.
Aussie....hope that your blood tests are ok.
Nothing exciting happening here, very heavy and warm, no great amount of sun

Evening all
Well-another hectic day but loads got done. Ex-dh is now on his way back to France somewhat the more worn out, but everything here looks fantastic.
Also had time to go to homebase and got an ouside table, four chairs and parasol, and two sun loungers thrown in for £99.95. Got a lawn mower reduced too by 10% because it had a mark on it - it's a lawn mower for goodness sake! and they gave me 10%!!! one satisfied customer!!
Anyway, now I have to get everything ready to go off to see OH on thursday - will be gone two weeks and NOTHING is ready yet, so another busy day lined up tomorrow.
Have not read all the thread today so apologies for not knowing what's going on.
Need to sort out the washing, so see you tomorrow!
