though you can try
username admin

I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right0 -
you said this was a pre owned router didn't you so it might be that the password is still what they had......you would have to ring netgear on that one sorry as i don't know
would reseting the password restore the settings eg password back to its default stateNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -

Oh I give up, I can't even find the reset button FGS!!!!!!
I've just spoke to my brother who knows a bit about computers and he has said that he will come down and sort it out but not till next weekend and that as long as I disconnect the router when I'm not using it that that should be ok, will it??? I don't use the computer much, maybe an hour or 2 per day. I just can't spend any more time on it now it's making me feel so frustrated - I spent ages yesterday to trying to work out the wireless thing - they should definitely make an idiots guide for people like me lolSometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -

I'd just like to add, when your brother comes to sort the problem out (presuming Cat and the rest of the folks haven't fixed it by then!), instead of letting him do it, get him to talk you through doing it.
a) you'll feel much happier and less frustrated if you have solved it yourself and
b) you may understand what the problem was, so if it occurs in the future, you can fix it yourself (with maybe a little help from here if necessary).0 -
