ok type in that ip address again.....192.168.0.1 (must be connected via the ethernet ok) then go into wireless settings

it won't show connected as secure as your connect by ethernet will only show secure when connected wireless (should have poiinted that out sorry)

I'm now connected via the ethernet - I've entered the 192.168.1.1 and the page is coming up asking for username and password - I've tried admin, I've tried the password I entered yesterday, and I've tried entering the number from earlier - none of which are working. I've tried opening up the page that I had on yesterday and putting a new password in there and then tried it - still not happening.

Is there anything else I could try?

claire is there a reset button on the router, it would be very small, you would need a pen to reset it

you said this was a pre owned router didn't you so it might be that the password is still what they had......you would have to ring netgear on that one sorry as i don't know
