Evening all. Don't usually post twice in a day, but I'm feeling very proud of myself tonight.
*bed changed, bedding washed, line-dried, ironed and ready to go into the blanket box (usually stalls as it comes off the line and goes back on the bed next Monday, wrinkled)!
*minor #1 has written letters to teachers as he is leaving infant school on Weds - all very lovely and brought a tear to the eye.
*end-of-year teacher presents for all three minors sorted using two boxes of icing sugar and three egg whites that were in the fridge (total outlay, £1.10). Mint / lemon / rose creams, for those who are starting to panic at the ingredients......
*lavender harvested from the garden and hung in the utility with a paper bag over the end to dry.
*first bash at quick-and-dirty lavender ironing water steeping nicely in the kitchen. No more paying Mr Tesco £1.somepence a bottle, I hope.
The lovely thing about harvesting the lavender is that while I was doing it, I suddenly remembered doing the same thing 30 years ago, in my grandmother's garden. I think the rhythm of pull and snip, pull and snip brought it back. Then I remembered her outhouse being full of lavender drying. THEN I remembered I needed a paper bag to catch it as it dries, and had to rescue the last one out of the recycling box!
Off now to confirm meal plans for the rest of the month before I lose my momentum (and try to scrub the icing sugar off the kitchen table <sigh>). Then retiring, I think, with the Agatha Christie I started last night. I had forgotten that she actually used the English language rather well, even if she did cheat madly with whodunnit.
(((Hugs))) to all whole need them; congrats to others as appropriate. Sleep well.

It was a lovely few days with our 2 DGDTR`s, every time we manage to get down there, they seem to have grown so much. But it is so nice to have time with them, to play, chat, read stories, brush hair, go to the park, take them shopping and spoil them a bit.....a big bit....
