Hi again. R.Mac - make sure you factor in some 'me' time; you need looking after, too. It sounds like a hectic few days for you. Has the morning sickness passed now? I'm with you on the mess men make - with mine it's the not putting things back where they came from that annoys me.
Pink - your poor cat. I do hope you can change vets; you need to have complete confidence in them when you entrust your pets to them, don't you?
Well, it's become a bit cloudy here now - the sun is still coming out and I don't think it looks like rain but it's not as good as it was an hour ago!
I've walked up to the local shop and just bought milk and the paper and I'm more or less organised on the 'food' front for today. Time to get stuck into the office work once I've drunk my coffee.
I see some new 'faces' have been merged with us so I do hope you all stay! This is the best thread in lots of ways - for the support and genuine concern and encouragement from all on here when in need and the fantastic advice and moneysaving tips. I think I must have saved thousands since I joined and my lifestyle is so much better as well. We also have a good laugh which is also an essential in life.
Well, time to get on with some work.
See you later.

Hello everyone
It's a lovely sunny day here so I'll be doing as much washing as I possibly can. I might even scare the car with a bucket of water.
The bulk of the day will be given over to yet more job-hunting. I've a form to fill in, and of course the usual internet sites to go through. It's labourious, just hope it's not a waste of time as well.
A delivery van came to a neighbour's house this morning - there was nobody in so they dumped two sofas on their drive:eek: I went out and brought Teddy the cat in otherwise he'd have given himself a manicure on them then used them as sunbeds. I hope it doesn't rain on them.
I've got a little bite on my wrist - hope the above Teddy the cat doesn't have visitors in his coat. I'll put some deflea stuff on him regardless, better safe than sorry.
jayward/Judith - sorry to hear about your employment. It must be so frustrating for you to be forced into this corner.
Pink - your poor kitty! As long as he can get rid of his urine that is a good sign - not so pleasant for you at all of course. I hope the vet listens to your complaints and at the very least offers an apology and hopefully a proper explanation as well.
Rhysdad - what an excellent result at the car boot sale! You've inspired me to think about doing one myself, though I'll have to nag a friend into doing it with me as I think it would be too hard all alone. Hope you get the bread query resolved.
Donny-Gal - I'd be inclined to serve those pasta things in the same way as you'd serve larger pasta shapes ie boiled and dished up with a sauce. I don't think they'd be any good for pasta bakes as they'd go very soggy.
I've got one or two PMs to reply to - apologies, I'm useless at getting around to these things! I will do it soon, promise!!!
Bye for now

Afternoon all
Well, we survived the party yesterday - no-one got broken and only two guests were tedious; oh, and one no-show, so fewer rampaging 7 year olds than I'd anticipated. Minor #1 had a good time, chocolate daleks were mostly appreciated and honour is satisfied for another year.
Lovely day here today - sunny but blowy, so I've got the sheets on the line and the towels will be going out there once they've finished in the WM. DW done and emptied again. I got so excited I even cleaned the kitchen windows (but I've had a little lie down now, and it won't be happening again).
HM peapod soup with HM bread for lunch; clearing-out-the-freezer fish for tea, so one salmon portion, one fish in breadcrumbs, one fish in sauce, one fishfingers and one little fishy-shaped bites portion. What do you want to bet the children each want a spoonful of each?
Must go and whizz the soup now, then get up to school for minor #3's end-of-year party and mini-sports thingy (she's only 3).
Hugs to all who need them.

Afternoon all
Have told OH that I want a Dalek fleet cake for my 30th birthday next year :rotfl: I suspect he thinks I was joking...I wasn't
Liked your steam railway tale N9eavI like the sense of going back in time with travelling on a steam train, can't say I get particulary excited about steam engines and railway carriages like some people...although the ones you really need to worry about are the bus anoraks
Lovely sunny day here today, not a cloud in the sky, and where am I? At work of course! (Love my job really) Easy dinner tonight of eggs, baked beans and jacket potatoes, and then I need to do the hoovering. Will plod on with sorting out photos as well, while OH does a bit of ironing. He banned me from ironing years ago (I accidentally melted the plastic/rubber logos on a couple of his t-shirts once and he's never let me forget it

Afternoon all.
A Wolfy (((hug))) for anyone who wants/needs one.
I am SOOOO tired today; this is usual for a Monday. I spend the weekend trying to catch up with things I can't manage alone, as Mr LW is here to assist, and end up over-tiring myself. Can't seem to get the hang of pacing myself, at all.
When he gets home from work today, we have 4 bags of grass clippings to take to the Green Waste bit of the recycling centre, as he cut the grass on Saturday. We always leave it til a weekday to take them, as you spend hours queueing if you go at the weekend.
Looking forward to Thursday, when Molly Dog comes to stay with us while her humans are on holiday. I can't wait!:jIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon all,
Nice day here to-day, babysitting DS3's dog, they have gone to Kerry and are staying in a b&b so can't take her...she is a lovely little thing, doesn't like the cat and the feeling is mutual, so should be some fun!
Been to gp with OH this am, heartbeat is fine, so meds working, he is happy enough that nothing needs doing unless he has more pain or problem, in which case he should go to local A & E, so that's ok then.
Chicken breast with mixed veg and potatoes for dinner to-day, might make a rhubarb crumble for pudding...might not, depends on how much time I spend here.
Donny gal...sounds as if you bought some small pasta....it is good in soup or can be used instead of rice in risotto type dish...enjoy.
Hugs to all who are not feeling well or are sad for some reason...Smoky, please look after yourself.
Have a good day,
