Morning all.
Well done to serena's DS on his sats results!:j :j :j
We're off to the hospital for DS now and i'll be back flying later. I'm officially sad....I got up to go to the loo in the middle of the night and went into DDs room to see how good it looked :rotfl: . She'd better love it when she comes home or they'll be troublexx

Does anyone know anything about hoovers?
Mine has been misbehaving for a while now, but now it just won't pick anything up from the bottom. It will from the hose, but I've lost all the attatchments for that, so I'm left with a 2 inch nozzle, which isn't very efficient.
It's about 3 years old, and a Vax, so it shouldn't be defunct already, should it?
I had one of those - a Vax Turbo 1500 I think it was. It stopped picking up from the bottom too, so the carpet looked like a spider's web of long hair from both my DDs. I would have to go round picking it up with my fingers! It turned out the fan belt had snapped, so I changed it and the new one snapped immediately. I took it to the dump and the lady there said they get loads of Vax (and Dysons too!). I looked on the electrical board here and someone had said how wonderful the Sebo machines were, so I bought one. They're not cheap, but it immediately picked up all the hair and fluff which I had put up with for so long. I'm really pleased with it.
I've got a Vax carpet shampooer which is also carp. I'll never buy a Vax again.0 -
I'm feeling really depressed atm. I just feel like crying. I wanted to set up a DD for heating oil now that I've worked out how much we can afford. Unfortunately they want payment up front for new customers. It costs £331 and some pence for the minimum amount of 450 litres. They might as well have asked for £3,000! We have about an inch of oil left which will probably last a couple of weeks as we are only using it for heating the water. It's going to take months to save that sort of money
We can't borrow money off anyone for it. We still owe my mil for the last lot of oil we got.
Also my mum sent me a dvd of our wedding (my bil transferred it from video). It was also a video of their holiday in South Africa (which is where we were living at the time). I tried watching a bit of it, but I felt sick every time I appeared on screen. I am about as attractive as a gargoyle. I hate looking at myself in the mirror too. Yuck.0 -
Morning all.
Well so much for taking of advantage of it being the kids last day at school - DD is off sick. Shes been complaining of a headache for a couple of days which I put down to attention seeking, then this morning she is complaining of a sore throat and her tonsils look disgusting.
So instead of spending money in town I'm at home. So far I've pegged some washing out, DW on, cleared up various puddles of cat sick (lovely) and checked the chemicals in the kids pool. Going to clean upstairs later.
Hope everyone is having a good day.0 -
Justamum Big (((HUGS))). Can't you explain your situation to the oil company and ask to pay in instalments? If you can't borrow from family could you possibly get a credit card? (not easy I know, they won't give me one).
As for the wedding video, I'm sure you're beautiful, every bride is to everyone else but you are just too critical of yourself. I look awful in all photos and I am dreading my wedding ones, so I know how you feel but honestly if's just because it's YOU looking at them and seeing all your worst points. Everyone else will see a glowing, happy bride and that's what matters.
Look after yourself and try not to stress too much, a solution will appear and there's no point driving yourself mad about it (believe me, I know)

Justamum - stop putting yourself down - everyone who knows you loves you and I'm sure no one else thinks you look like a gargoyle! Things are obviously getting on top of you - take some me time, think about allt he things you have got - wonderful family, etc. I'm sure something will get sorted with the oil - if you've bought off them before, why are you a new customer?
Big hugs

Morning all
Two loads of washing out including my bedding. It was very misty first thing but it's hot sunshine now.
Bed remade. All bedrooms dusted and vacuumed. Landing, bathroom and toilet floors vacuumed. Stairs done. Living room dusted and vacuumed.
Was hoping for a peaceful day but the house two doors away is having something done to the roof and they've been hammering since 8 am.
If the washing dries quick enough I plan to cut the back grass later. The front is OK.
Good luck to Mudbath's DS at the hospital - hope your DD likes her bedroom when she gets home.0 -
Deep breaths, count to 100000000000
I swept the floor this morning, and the sofa. DS1 just came in covered in sand (I told him not to go out with no shoes on, and trod sand everywhere, jumped on the sofa...
I went MENTAL. I am not good at dealing with kids, or mess and I really lose it when things like that happen, poor boy is cowering on his beanbag watching ITNG. I feel like the worst mum in the world now!!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Big hugs for Justamum and Boddy and Ragz (I shout at mine far too much)
Congratulations for Serena and Pigpen on the SATs
Yesterday after work I took the boys to soft play and then to Pizza Hut. We all had a lovely time. They behaved really well and they are old enough to get on with playing. Hadn't been to soft play for at least a year as DS1 is scared of heights and always cried and DS2 was too little to play on his own. Completely different - I had a nice cup of coffee and read a magazine, and every so often one of them would shout and wave (including DS1 from about 20 foot up!!!!) and we stayed for nearly two hours, and they went straight to sleep when we got home. We will be doing that again - shame it is so expensive though.
I am supposed to be working, the boys are at nursery (bully is on holiday this week), DH is away till tomorrow and I just cant get myself motivated. Picking the boys up after lunch and then we need to tidy. House is full of sawdust and plasterdust and mouldy bits of wallpaper.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0
