Bankruptcy Credit Reference File Clean Up - Discussion

Like many on here, I am just beginning the process of cleaning up my files.
I have written to 5 creditors, Lloyds, Co-op, Santander, Next and Egg.
Next replied quickly and they have updated my credit file. Well done Next. Santander next, they are going to update it. Co-op and Lloyds today saying they will update it.
However, Egg haven't replied. Not sure if I expect them to? I don't think they have updated the files, but I read elsewhere people have problems with Egg? I can't find any posts specifically about that. Could someone point me in the direction please? It's possible I used the wrong address - but I know it's early days.
I have just noticed today that Marks and Spencers have the default date a couple of weeks after they should. I wouldn't be too bothered, but might drop them a line as come Febuary, I want it all off!
Thanks

When you complete your DRO you don't get an certificate of satisfaction awarded to you do you? I rang up the DRO Unit last Thursday and they said that they don't just send letters out and that you have to ring to get confirmation.
Will they send any letters out that states I've been released from bankruptcy?
Sorry for for being dim witted! It's something they don't tell you when your arranging it. Typical government body... full stop.Previous Debt - £14,342 Current Debt - £740 (Student Loan)

I've seen the address for Barclaycard loans and motor finance but is Clydesdale finance the same place to send a step 1 letter too?
I have a Barclaycard initial credit card entry that I want removing from my credit file.

Hi,
I was declared BR 03/06/2010 and discharged on 03/06/2011.
My house which was mortgaged prior to BR was repossessed in November 2012 and sold May 2013. There was a shortfall of £21000
The mortgage company accept the debt forms part of the BR but say they will only mark the account as satisfied on the date of the property sale.
In the original thread it states
PLEASE NOTE
That the date that the CRF's should show as being settled or satisfied, should show any date between your bankruptcy date and your discharge date, but NO LATER than your discharge date. This is the new guidance that the ICO applies following several precedent determinations between them and the creditors.
Which is correct and where is the regulation/guidance published to support this??
Thanks in advance for any help!0 -
I've been trying to clean up my file after bankruptcy using the excellent advice here, but the worst unresolved amount still stuck on my file is the one from Natwest credit cards.
I have sent 2 recorded delivery letters to the address suggested at the end of one of my credit files:
NAT WEST CREDIT CARDS: NEW ACCOUNTS, CRA ENQUIRIES, CREDIT CARD OPERATIONS CENTRE, PO BOX 6050,
SOUTHEND ON SEA, SS99 1WL
but neither letter has been signed for yet and are both still in the system. One was posted over a month ago and the other a week ago?
Today, I'll send another to this address:
Cards Customer Services
Customer Contact Centre
PO Box 5747
Southend on Sea
SS1 9AJ
as it is the only other I can find, but can anyone shed some light on why this is happening (the letters not reaching them at the first address)?
Thanks0 -
I'd pay for a service like this to clean up and check through my files, anyone fancy doing it?
Cheers0 -
In regards to my post 2 up, I have now sent 4 recorded delivery letters to 3 different Nat West addresses and none of them have been signed for. I also sent out 2 standard letters as at least I know they'd make it through the door (assuming there is a door) but this is now not funny at all.
I have 10k still showing on my credit file to Nat West and my insolvency is now 4.5 years old. I cannot wait another 18 months for this to get better and does anyone have any advice on how to get Nat West to receive one of the letters suggested on the original thread.
Incidentally, all the others wrote back within a week and cleared their stuff from my file.0 -
For Natwest, you're not getting them signed for because that is a PO Box. Try getting on the phone to them. I ended up getting someone directly to help me (I think it was their insolvency team). You might even have joy if you ring the parent company RBS.0

Hi all,
I've got an outstanding entry on my Experian Report (not checked equifax, it's showing clear on noddle) from Creation Consumer Finance. I'm not sure if this needs to be cleaned up or not but I am looking to take out a new mortgage over the next few months.
The entry with Experian is showing as:
Started 30/12/05
Default 22/06/07
Current Balance £4746
Account Status code 8
My BR was 14/03/2007 and discharge was 31/08/2007. I know the default date should be 14/03/07, but my question is:
Will it clear itself anyway on the 22 June 2013? My worry is that it says it's a current balance it won't clear.0
