Bankruptcy Credit Reference File Clean Up - Discussion

I've been trying to clean up my file since the begining of this year. I've sorted everyone except for Egg, where I seem to be banging my head against a brick wall. I have sent recorderd letters to both Pride Park and Canada Square addresses, but have had no success in getting them to correct the info. I know that Barclays subsequently bought out Egg, but does anyone have a definitive contact and or address for me to write to that will get my file corrected?
Thanks0 -
I too have had no reply from Nat West even though I did get the letter signed for using the address Mr Turner supplied.
Are they under some legal responsibility now that someone has physically signed for the letter?
That said, I haven't actually bought another credit report yet as I would have though the bank would notify me of their update, but I suppose they may have addressed the issue and not informed me?0 -
Been a long time since I last wrote on here but still having problems with the Halifax!! The loan I had with them has still not been sorted and is showing as 'in default'
I'm going to try one last round of letters (thanks Fermi, using your template again) but not sure who to send it to. The ICO only seem to list 'HALIFAX INDEPENDENT FINANCIAL ADVISERS LIMITED' but I'm not sure that's the right one. Most letters from them seem to be via the debt collectors (Blair, Oliver and Scott Ltd) but the one I do have just says 'Halifax is a division of Bank of Scotland plc' and is from Recoveries which is a PO Box (so no recorded deliveries).
Can anyone help? Sorry if its listed in the thread somewhere but I couldn't see it.
Edited to add: The loan was included in my bankruptcy - sorry should have saidBR 08/06/09 ED 10/03/10BSC member 2500 -

Thanks Fermi, from reading that link to the Halifax page it mentions the LLoyds Banking Group so got an address for them (see link below) and will send it there as well as the HBOS one. Going to bombard them until someone steps up and does the job they should have when I first went bankrupt! I may also just go and camp in the local Halifax branch until they tell me an address :rotfl:

Hiya
Just a bit worried about my credit record. I had a loan with MBNA and a joint mortgage with my ex which were included on my BR but they dont show at all now on any of my credit records, i think this is a good thing as i know hes responsible now for the joint mortgage but should the MBNA debt be showing, even as defaulted?
Also Santander were my only other creditor and i sent them the standard letter on her and amazingly had a reply within 7 days saying they had now updated all my credit records, but ive checked and the records have not changed as yet- should they have or do i need to be patient and wait?
Any advice would be great, thanksA shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.

Hi all,
I'd be very grateful if someone could shed some light on this for me....
I was declared bankrupt in october 2008, and discharged in may 2009. I am in the process of clearing up my credit file, namely by seeking corrections where there are no dates for settlement (ie still showing as default) or where there are incorrect dates.
I am going to use the templates on MSE to do this. However, my stumbling block...
I don't have a list of account number for the creditors. I have also moved home and changed my name (upon divorce). I had tried contacting a couple of them, but they dont seem to have any details whatsoever. How do I go about getting this corrected if, according to their systems, I dont even exist?!
Many thanks in advance0 -
Hi all,
its been over 2 years since my bankruptcy and i have decided its about time to do a cleanup, i only have 4 errors i can see in my files
2 x Marlin financial, one for a credit card one for an overdraft
1 x Santander for an old loan which is also the 3rd error
1 x Active CCJ for the above Santander loan
i dont have a certificate and no longer live in the county and to be fair £80 is a lot of money for proof but i do have my letter from the OR confirming my early discharge, will this do?
if i send one copy to marlin and one to santander will this sort both issues with each company or will i need a letter for each one?
finally, does anyone have a known working adress for both of these?
cheers0
