2 letters to the bank itself, a letter to all 3 CRAs, emails to every email address I can find and finally HSBC have sent me a reply apologizing for having the incorrect details on my credit report.

By all accounts they should be updating them all shortly! It's been a fairly frustrating last 6 weeks, but the finishing line is in site thankfully and for the first time in 6 years my report should be looking healthy! :)

    Excellent. :D

Pretty much what they did with me then,

i.e. ignored the initial letters, then sheepishly sorted it out when I went a tad over the top with the 2nd lot. :rotfl:

  • I have three different entries for Nat West all still showing default (CC, Loan, Current Account).

Should I write three separate letters or include all three on the one letter?

    Thanks.

    Any ideas?

If I need to send one to all three I need to find their addresses, I don't seem to be able to use that link very well that gives data controller details. How do I know it's going to the right place?

i'd say one letter, which includes all account numbers and details..

i had 2 accounts with HSBC, but only sent one letter, and they responded & fixed the problem in a couple of weeks!

see my post on the last page for details (i would link you there, but apparently i'm still a "new user" so am not allowed to post links)..

I am about to start cleaning up both mine an DH files. Both were discharged a year after our bankruptcy date in July 2011.

I have book marked the noodle link...am i right in thinking i STILL need to clean up other agency files such as experian etc if i sign up to noodle???
    update
we have both signed up to noodle! defaults still showing on both our accounts for 2 creditors, but then there are also 3 creditors missing....the big ones really mortgage...loan and one of the credit cards that was £5k ish? guessing ill get an idea once we order the other agency ones.
Also DH has a credit card that had 0 balance on it at time of BR this is showing as still active green ticks up until last month, but we are sure this was cancelled, we have not had any new cards issued, shall we just ignore?

Also i only have my bankruptcy paperwork with the account numbers on etc (no old debt letters), is this going to be an issue?

Its ben a while and iv been putting it off, such a hard thing to face after being able to almost forget about all the heartache of the past couple of years:o
  • I wrote a letter to Provident asking them to correct the information - they still had down that I owed £66 and 2 payments late, they hadn't even defaulted the account. They replied to my letter and said the info has been updated. However the Only change is that they have added a settlement date which is the end of the bankruptcy order. There is no default date and it still states that I am 2 payments late with £66 outstanding. Do I write to them again and tell them to amend these details or is it ok as there is a settlement date now? Thanks
  • OK people your help is needed.

I've been away from here for a while, hope all is well, so here goes.

I was discharged from BH Jan 2010, and i started cleaning my Credit File early last year. Sent the relevant letters to EGG & NBMA which needed to be
cleared up. I had a look at my file again last week and they are now showing the current balances as satisfied (which is good), but both have a put a Satisfaction Date on them of 28/10/11 and 13/02/2012? Im sure this is wrong, as i thought the date has to be between BR Date and Discharge date. and why is it only showing "satisfaction date" on the ones i wrote to?

    Anyone shed any light?

p.s Glad to see so many people helping each other out :T

    Hi

I have been trying to do clean up & so far all has gone well apart from Shop direct finance, they wont even sign for letters that are sent so no proof to make a complaint. also they have not even sent me a reply back nothing even though I emailed letters & sent letter to mark as settled as stated & change defaults plus I gave then a second letter with extra time added, but nothing from them at all, how can I complain to Information Commissioner if I have no proof of delivery as they wont sign any help.

    Thanks

Which brand from shop direct did you have the account with?

And what address did you write to?
