Despite being discharged, the facts surrounding e original default remain relevant to be listed and will not magically disappear from view until the 6 year cut off is reached (from then they are not displayed to enquirers, but remain on the file of he CRA).

Does anyone know who I contact about my EGG loan that was included in my Trust Deed.
I'm trying to fix my credit report and the loan is under a new name of Britannica Recoveries S.A.R.L. I cant find the address to write to them?

By 'fixing' what are you hoping to achieve? Unless you are challenging accuracy, you cannot enforce removal of the information (having already agreed to it bring there as part of the application process).

That would appear to contradict the stickied thread in this forum (I'm not allowed to post links yet) where it says the debts should be marked as settled/satisfied. Is that different for Scotland?

Egg was part of the trust deed that i was discharged from in 2010 but is still showing the full amount outstanding and showing every month since 2007 as a default.

The is alot of information in the sticky on this subject, but just wanted an idiots start guide, as i have been putting this off for a while, but want now to get it sorted.

Do i just order a copy of my status from Experian and contact all those that show open ? (using the templates / addresses on the sticky)

    Thankyou,

    Basically, yes.

    Check....

    (1) The default date - must be on or before your bankruptcy date. If after, that is wrong and needs correcting.

    (2) Account status - should be marked as settled/satisfied or a partial settlement with no current outstanding balance listed. If not, then again needs sorting.

Link Financial are even worse, they say it is company policy to keep accounts marked defaulted until you pay them. They insisted that they can do this lawfully and confirmed that under no circumstances will they change my credit file unless I pay them.

The default stays regardless, so they are partially right.

It must just also be marked in some way to show it is settled in addition to the default.

If they are saying they won't mark it as settled in some way, then their "company policy" is dead wrong.

Yes, they said they made a decision not to mark accounts settled/satisfied unless they receive a payment. I'm sending the template letters today but it looks like I might have to go to the ICO with that one. Thanks for the response.:)
  • I have three different entries for Nat West all still showing default (CC, Loan, Current Account).

Should I write three separate letters or include all three on the one letter?

    Thanks.
