Bankruptcy Credit Reference File Clean Up - Discussion

When I start my credit file clean up do I still need to quote the extract from the Information Commissioners Guidance in the letter if the letter relates to a DRO ending and not a bankruptcy ending?
If not is there any substitute guidance I should add to the letter that relates to a DRO instead of bankruptcy? thanks.
Not really any additional guidance to add.
The ICO says that those principles apply to other formal insolvency proceedings, which a DRO is.
So either leave off those, or add a note to say that the ICO has advised that they correspondingly apply to the making and discharge of a DRO.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Hi all,
I'm now discharged, and my IPA is done!
I sent off all my clean up letters and have waited over two months to see how many take action. All but RBS and Vanquis have done so.
What's my next move?
Thanks

just another thing, during cleanup i sent off all the letters to all creditors, all but 3 have the correct details on my report
cahoot, barclays and mint all have default dates for early 2007
when my br is dated 5/12/2006.
is it worth doing the second letter to them to try and correct the errors?
i know its only a few months but even so..........0 -
A few experiences that could help someone on here. I called my debtors and most were quite happy to discuss credit reporting with me.
MBNA (Virgin credit card):
They started off saying the debt had been sold on to Experto and it was therefore not up to them to update my credit file. I told them that Experto had updated their entry, but only MBNA could update the MBNA entry. After a while, I got through to a lady called Tammy in their Insolvency Team. She said even though they still REPORT to all three agencies, her office only has ACCESS to view Call Credit. She said as Call Credit was OK, she couldn't update. She then said if I emailed her a screen shot of my Equifax or Experian showing the entries still marked as 'Defaulted', she would update the records. So I did and she did! Easy! The Insolvency Team's direct line is 01244 673175.
Experto:
Called on 0118 952 5300. Got through straight away and they promised to update within 28 days. Almost seemed too easy....Time will tell.
Debt Managers Ltd:
Called on 0131 2705400. Exactly the same as Experto. Very easy.
Only Bank of Ireland asked to see proof of discharge. I spoke with their 'Legal Administration' unit. Nice enough bloke. He had my discharge date as 2014 when this was, in fact, the end of my BRU. I'm posting proof of discharge tomorrow.
I'd recommend calling to be honest. Saves a lot of time and money compared to posting off letters and you actually have a name that you can call back and blame should they not update.0 -

Probably not. Unless you anticipate that month or so making a huge difference to you.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Santander - Credit File Clean up following IVA Completion
Hi,
Earlier this year I completed an IVA and thought I had got my credit file sorted out. i.e.
I got all defaults backdated to the date of my IVA, I got the IVA marked as completed with all 3 CRAs and my details off the Insolvency Register.
Everything was looking ok up to last week when Santander decided to DEFAULT me AGAIN on a DUPLICATE of the original account at the CRA. Copied below are the records from Experian and Equifax
Call Credit have still got the old details for now.
Can anyone offer any advice on what I need to do to get this cleared up properly and stop Santander from doing this again. I only got alerted to this error when I picked it up with the £1.99 alert monitoring service which Experian offer.

I'm concerned about this one as there is NO DEFAULT DATE only a SATISFIED DATE and potentially this record could stay on my file until 27/10/2017 - That's 12 years!!!!
How do I MAKE Santander remove duplicated records and ensure they don't register duplicate records again?0 -
Also in the previous post it says
Special Instruction Indicator: Debt Assigned - for Experian Report
Should this still show, after debt was included in satisified IVA.0
