Wondered if anyone could clarify two quick points about my report?

I was declared BR on 21/01/08 & discharged on 01/08/08.

One entry looks like this: NATIONWIDE BUILDIN...Loan Default Satisfied 10/05/2009

The default date and special instruction date is all fine. I am wondering if the main line for this loan should show as Default or should it be something else now I am discharged?

The other question is, does anyone know who Capquest are? I have an incorrect entry by them showing I still owe money. I have a feeling they must be a credit agency and Abbey National referred my account to them. Does that sound right?

    Thanks as always

  • Just about to start my clean up of my credit files its now been 6 months since discharge and have noticed on my Noddle account some are still showing as default and even one says late payment ! 8 out of 18 creditors show settled, now am i best to go thru the details on my Noddle account or use the Experian and order the statutory reports ?

Quick question.....just sent of my letter to the Data Controller for Lloyds TSB Bank PLC - anyone know if they are pretty good with getting the credit file clean up?

Just so I can prepare myself for the next best action where necessary...

  • Hi guys

    Nice, easy question I hope.

My credit files are pretty well updated actually, with just a few letters to write. My question is regarding both my Experian and Equifax reports.

Both files obviously show my bankruptcy but also:

    My Experian shows:

    J2 Mr tommo2007
    Info type: Judgment Date: 22/6/2010
    Amount: £Enough
Court Name: Northampton County Court Case No: BlahBlahBlah

If you have paid a judgment you should contact the court involced and ask for a Certificate of Satisfaction. We will be told that the judgment is satisfied and we will update our records. For further information please see the explanatory leaflet

    And my Equifax shows:

    Court date: 22/6/2010
    Case Number: BlahBlahBlah
    Court Name: Northampton CCBC
    Judgement Value: £Enough
    Judgement Type: CCJ
    Name: Mr tommo2007
    DoB: Blank
    Satisfied Date: Blank

Obviously this is a CCJ, but neither say this is settled or otherwise. The creditor concerned (O2) is also on my credit report with "DEFAULT" still showing, so they are going to be written to.

But my question is, do I have to do anything or write to anyone regarding the CCJ that is showing on both reports?

    Many thanks for any help

Unlike defaults, CCJs can usually only be marked as satisfied or settled if they have actually been paid.

I suppose your could try with the court and/or ask the creditor for a letter confirming the CCJ is settled, but they are not obliged to do or provide that.

Presuming the CCJ is from before your BR date, then honestly it's not worth the hassle. The BR itself is a bigger, blacker, and more recent mark on your credit file, so the CCJ is neither here nor there.

  • Hi fermi

    Thanks for the response.

Yes, the CCJ is from BEFORE my bankruptcy date, but as there is no settled date, does that mean the CCJ will remain on my credit file forever? As it won't drop off without a settled date will it?

Thanks again for such a quick response!
