  • My husband is now a year past discharge and we are trying to clean up.

Has anyone had any luck with Post Office (Bank of Ireland). We sent all the letters off (recorded) to nat west, lloyds tsb and BOI and all but BOI did what they were supposed to.

We left it for 2 months but have now started to chase them and no one there seems to know what we are talking about, or who to put us through to. We ask for the data controller but get put through to legal and always get told have never received discharge papers from OR. We protest, they say they will look into it and call us back, and obviously don't

What is the next step? Contact the information controller? Or could experian etc help?

Oh, and does anyone have a more direct line for the department we need at BOI other than the main switchboard/ customer services number?

    many thanks in advance

    Hi Guys....

Wondering whether you can help me.

I was discharged from Bankruptcy in April and am now looking at cleaning up my file. I have checked on Equifax and all my accounts say default and the dates are after my bankruptcy.

As I was discharged automatically I have still not received a confrimation letter from the OR. I tried contacting them this week and they said I need to speak to the court at where my bankruptcy was filed and they charge £60 for the letter!!!

Is this right? anyone have any advice on what I can do?

    Many Thanks,

    James

I'm trying to clear mine and have been asked for a letter of discharge, hope I don't have to pay £60 for it.

I got a letter of discharge from my OR.

I emailed them requesting one the day after AD and they sent a letter out within a few days. I didn't have to pay.

Been discharged 5 months and yet to start the clean-up ! I keep putting it off :o I know I shouldn't.

As said, it's only the court certificate that you have to pay £60 for. Even then, if you qualify for fee remission, that would be free.

Most creditors are OK with a letter confirming discharge from the or. Only a few occasionally are deliberately obstructive and demand the actual certificate.

If it's not causing you any "issues", then there's not a huge hurry.
