Apologies if this has already been answered on this thread but do you need to have the account numbers for the defaulted accounts? I am struggling to locate them :-(

I have read the letter I need to send out and am wondering which bits are relevent to a DRO?

I have a printed off my entry on the IS wedsite saying my DRO has ended is this all I need?

Also what dates should they be using to show my account is satified. The date the DRO ended or before?

    Thanks

Three creditors (HSBC, First Direct and Egg) have marked my account as partial settlement. This appears as as a 'caution flag' on my credit files with Experian and Equifax. Is this correct when they did not receive anything from my bankruptcy? All the other creditors simply marked the account as defaulted on bankruptcy date with the defaulted amount and a current status of settled.

Equifax says a Partial Settlement is:
Payment received as a full and final settlement although the payment would not fully clear the balance.

Yes. Marking the account as a partial settlement is acceptable.

Just checked mine and the two defaults have been removed completely, by that I mean the whole entries rather than the default being changed to the date of the bankruptcy or changed to settled, is this what should have happened??
  • I was left with a mountain of debt by an ex and I was declared BR in 2006 and discharged in 2007 .. I have applied for bank accounts and even a contract phone, but have been told I can't have them (which is becoming a bit of a bind)
I have read that people have been cleaning their Credit Files ... how do you go about doing this? I haven't got a clue. :(
This is my first time on a forum .. so please be gentle with me and apologies if its posted in the wrong place!
  • Hi,

I've almost doen my credit files so now I'm going to start on the CCJ's.

How do I go about cleaning up CCJ that are on my file? Do I send the same letter to the courts or to the origianl creditor?

    Regards
