Well the very basic accounts with Barclays and the Coop are BR friendly so I should think you would be ok.

    Dear all

this thread has been immense help to me over the past few months whilst cleaning up the last of my "loose ends".

however, Barclaycard sol fin & sky card are the last bug bear.

please can someone confirm for me that the address quoted above is the correct one for the data controller?

as I have sent recorded letters to there, plus about 4 other addresses....

    incl.

    Barclays Bank;

    Barclays Data Protection
    Radbroke Hall
    Knutsford
    Cheshire
    WA16 9EU

    Barclaycard

    Data Protection Team
    Dept LRC
    Barclaycard
    Northampton
    NN4 7SG

and the Clydesdale Financial services address.....

    and have received no response.

am just sending ICO letter, but am not even 100% sure what address to put down on the complaint form for Barclaycard sol fin & sky card. so any help/advice would be greatfully received.

    hi guys

can anyone help at all.... don't seem to be getting anywhere with this one. ICO site doesn't list Barclaycard sol fin & sky card (unless I am being stupid).

any help gratefully received..... as is the last piece of the BR jigsaw for me.... get this taken off and my equifax is clear.

No advice prujon as I am only just starting out on the clean up journey myself but just wanted to say good luck with Barclays/Clydesdale Finance.

My husband has had to get the FLA and the FOS involved with them as they won't acknowledge he is BR. They have been a nightmare, and are even ignoring the FLA and FOS!!! I do hope you get it sorted out and please update us here.
  • Having been discharged in March this year I have decided to have a look at this now - <gulp> printing off the 30 page credit files now - although experian won't let me do it online for some reason, and will need a highlighter!
  • Could someone please tell me where I can find the letter to send to creditor to clean up my credit file?

  • Without looking back through all the posts from 2008 :)Has anyone mentioned that you can directly query the incorrect balances with the Credit Reference Agencies? I know with Experian, there is no extra cost involved.
Sorry about that username. I know I know. I thought it was funny at the time. Well I still do a bit but for those that are offended... sorry :o

You can, but if the creditor replies to the CRA that the info is correct, then the CRA will sit on their hands and do nothing.

Normally it is better to take it up with the lender direct. That way, if things are not sorted out then you have all the evidence you need to make a complaint under the data protection act.

Plus, creditors may only update just the CRA you complain though. Write a letter direct, and it obliges the creditor to update all the CRAs they report to.

Saying that, personally I would do both.

Write direct and go through any CRA that will do so. Hit them on two fronts.

  • On a positive note I recently completed an IVA and then started on the credit file 'clean up' operation.

Credit Expert were useful and started the ball rolling. However some of the creditors required a direct letter plus a copy of the completion certificate. I found that sending the letter then calling them up finally did the trick. My credit file is now 'clean' albeit with defaults showing as satisfied.

I've just been accepted for a Capital One VISA card so I can start repairing my file. I'm delighted although DEFINITELY not going to go mad with it. Good luck everyone, there's light at the end of the tunnel..... :j
  • Hi. When I start the credit clean up process, I've heard that creditors will write to me at my current address and my previous address as a security precaution.

Does anyone know if they write to every address my debts were assosiated with, or just my current address and the address immediately prior to that?
