It is allowed to still say default.
Max Recovery has updated it to show satisfied but the date reads 25/04/10 when it should read June 2009!!
Is that the actual default date or the last updated date? It is the default date they have to change.
Natwest have updated it to show satisfied and entered the correct date of 07/06/2009 (good on 'em)
Good.
Clydesdale bank show satisfied but again have put the wrong date - this time 18/04/10!!
Again, is that the actual default date or the last updated date? It is the default date they have to change.
What do I do now?
Depends on the answers to the above.
I was expecting all to read Satisfactory (IN GREEN)
They won't, and don't have to.
- why do they still appear as Default (IN RED) even if they show satisfied right next to it??!
Because that is correct. You did default, and that is still the current status. Being updated as satisfied does not change that.

Hi guys, i really need some help!!
I sent my clean up letters off to all my creditors two weeks ago along with all the relevant information they needed to access my account and one of them has replied saying..... "they've been unable to locate my account from the details i provided"
Well i know the account number to the debt in question is correct because i've checked it three times over!!...the creditor is ...'LOMBARD DIRECT' (loans)
Could some one please confirm if the below address is the correct one for the DATA CONTROL OFFICER for Lombard Direct...
The Royal Bank Of Scotland PLC
36 St Andrew Square
Edinburgh
Midlothian
EH2 2YB
I used the link in the sticky to check the correct address and it confirmed it, but if any of you know different could you please give me the correct address to contact for LOMBARD DIRECT..
I mean the letter they replied to me with is headed RBS Natwest, Credit card operations!!!!!
I'm totally confused ..did i send the letter to the wrong address or are they trying to be funny and awkward.
cheers Mark.0 -
Santander have not altered anything! It still reads default and still has an outstanding balance!!!!
It is allowed to still say default.
Ok that's good to know because they all read default - however they have not changed it at all, it still gives the balance outstanding as it did before... Nothing has changed.
Max Recovery has updated it to show satisfied but the date reads 25/04/10 when it should read June 2009!!

OK good - the default date reads 2008 on all of them now! I was confused by the updated date!
Default = sorted!
What do I do now?

Right

Because that is correct. You did default, and that is still the current status. Being updated as satisfied does not change that.
Fair enough - good to know.
So from my understanding all is well except Santander - I appreciate the word DEFAULT will always be there, but they still show the default balance and current balance of £xxxx - no where on their section does it read satisfied like the others.
This is surely incorrect? What shall I do with this then?
Thanks very much,

Yep. That is incorrect.
They are allowed to still show the "default balance", as that is just the balance at the time the account was defaulted. As such, that is never going to change.
However, the "current balance" should be updated so that it no longer shows a total. Just "satisfied or settled" or "partially satisfied or settled instead.
Up to you what you do to be honest.
You could:
1) Just register a complaint now with the ICO.
or
2) Write a strong reminder letter to Santander. Head it "Letter before action", and demand that they update the record. Also dispute the entry through the credit reference agencies for good measure, as that makes it harder for them to ignore.
Since (1) can take months and months and months, I would be inclined to try (2) first. Give them a month to sort it, and then go for (1) if still not fixed.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

In theory you should not, as long as you have supplied sufficient other information for them to identify the account.
In practice creditors will find any excuse to drag their heels.
Have you got an up to date credit report? If so then for starters dispute the accuracy of the credit report info via the credit reference agency. The pain with that is that you might have to do it for all 3 agencies, but at least you don't need an account number to do it. The CRA contacts the lender direct. However, if they won't change it, then you may still be forced to write to the lender direct, so it is not always ideal as a first choice.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Fermi, we often get asked about bank/credit account numbers lost. Can you get a copy of the 6.28 form from the court you went BR from? Thank you x"If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride"
