Bankruptcy Credit Reference File Clean Up - Discussion

Good luck.
Hopefully they will sort them without too much hassle? Does seem to depend on the court staff though, from what others have said before?
I spoke to both courts this morning and at first neither of them were going to play ball. After I said some courts are able to help in these matters they went off to seek clarification and came back and said send in BR order etc. I have now written of letters to both courts and will post them recorded this afternoon.
I also emailed my OR and he said that is not something he has any control over so cannot help. He is genuinely quite helpful on other matters so don't think he is being lazy - just might not know or really think he can do anything. He suggested I write to creditors. I'll stick with the courts and see what they come back with.
Regarding the rest of the clean up I have written letters to all creditors to mark file as settled (as per template letter), most seemed to have the correct default date already but only one of them had £0 balance.
Lastly (for now!) I have written to all 3 credit reference agencies to have any financial association with my 19 year son removed from mine and OH's file.
All in all I feel that is a good day's work! I hope there isn't a queue at the post office!

Hi Guys. I was discharged from Bankruptcy (BR) in March 2009. I had a credit card with Nationwide which is showing 'Default' of January 2005. It is due to be removed (six year rule) in January 2011. If I write to their Data Controller explaining it should read 'satisfied' as from my BR date, does it mean the 6 years will commence from March 2009 (meaning it will show until 2015), the date of my BR? If the 6 years starts again, surely it is in my best interest to leave it as it comes of in 9 months?
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.0 -
Can anyone tell me if there is a template letter to request copies of my CRF, I would like to write (rather than internet request) to Experian and Equifax who I believe are the most widely used agencies, if there are others please let me know. Thank you.2019 MFW No. 74 £13700/£30000 (45.66%)

Hi, I am just writing (or copying the template) of the letter to the Data Control Officer of my Mortgage and second mortagage company as the info on my reports is wrong.
The letter here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=677875 in post 2 says after several letters to your customer service with no response......
Silly question but I haven't written any letters to anyone yet so should that be my first port of call or should I send the letter with or without that line straight to the Data Control Officer?
This stuff is all very confusing lol. I feel all overloaded with info but happy to find out that they have to put the date of default from the day you went bankrupt as that means I only have another 18 months of it on my record rather than the 3 years from they date they have recored on my report.
Big thank you to everyone on here that gives info...we would all be totally lost and blind to what we can do without your help :j:T0 -
The letter is just a template, so just adjust it to suit what your are trying to do.
Mortgage defaults don't work in the same way. The correct date for the default is the the date (or shortly after) that you actually defaulted mortgage payments on. Your BR date doesn't effect it.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Ok thanks, one of the Northern Rock entries is listed as a loan so will chase this anyway.0
