I read today that lots of people have started getting payday loans simply as a way to boost their credit report. It shows they can repay their debts. Is this a good idea? I read it here http://www.paydaybank.co.uk/news/?p=131
I could be wrong but ......... I would say on the contrary. To me it would show that you can't make your money last until next pay day.

Okay I'm finally getting round to cleaning my credit files. I have a couple of questions.

    1) I can't find the address for the Data Controller for First Direct - do I send it to HSBC?
    2) Rafaels Bank is showing re my Monument card. This was Barclays when I took it out and I can't find Rafaels Bank - should I send it to Barclays?

    1) Yep. First Direct is just a division of HSBC.
    2) Raphaels Bank is these people I think? http://www.ico.gov.uk/ESDWebPages/DoSearch.asp?reg=4487438

Yeah, I think that is correct Fermi.

I have written all these letters to the people who have actually reported to the CRA as opposed to the original company - should these go to the original creditor instead?

Also, I am ringing the courts regarding the 3 CCJs I got post BR. What do I need to say to them? Am I asking for them to be removed or set aside?

If the record is now recorded against another company on your files, then they are the ones who have the power to correct it now. So letters go to them.

With the CCJ's you are really wanting them to be removed rather than having to go through the formal set-aside procedure. Seems that in some cases the courts etc are able to effect that quite simply, while others have found it more difficult.

So I suppose the first thing is to ring/write to the court to see what they say?

    Good luck. :)

Hopefully they will sort them without too much hassle? Does seem to depend on the court staff though, from what others have said before?

Thanks for input Fiveyearplan. It is an interesting one - I suppose it's just on how often you apply for these loans - a one-off could look good, or once every few months, but every month and it may look like you are living beyond your means!
