Hi all,
sorry to bother you but ive just sent off a heap of cred ref file clean up letters out however, i think i have shot myself in the head and wonder if anyone can advise me?
went br dec 2008 now discharged dec 2009 i have asked all creditors to amend my files to state my date of br dec 2008 against all the defaulted debts and no later, but some of the defaults i have just noticed are from 2006- 2007 so will these stay on my cred ref file longer now? example "should i have left the 2006-2007 to run and they would of automatically cleared after the 6 year time scal"feel really stupid:rolleyes:
any info would be much appreciated
regards

Yes. They should correct records with all the CRAs.The_Incredible_Schmoo wrote: »2) Both my credit files show Vodafone Ex Singlepoint, do I look for the data controller for Vodafone or Singlepoint? Because I can't seem to find anything for Singlepoint & about 8 different thnigs for Vodafone(any pointers would be magic!).

They are not entitled to move the date forward.
If they do deliberately misconstrue the meaning of your letter, then you can complain as you would regarding any other inaccurate data.
I must admit that when I did mine, I left out the bit about amending the default date for accounts that didn't need it. Didn't want to give them a chance to maliciously misunderstand.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Hi
I was discharged last month and have just checked my credit record and there are a few I need to sort out.
Another question I have is that under linked associates it shows my brother and sister in law. I have never had any connection with them and neither had my dh. My sil has the same first name as me so now that I am married I have her maiden name so I can see how it's happened but how do I correct it?
I have only searched through Equifax for now. If there are problems with experian do i need to send a seperate letter even though it could be the same lender?
Does anyone know the address for the IC at Close Motor Finance?
Also, I threw all documents out when we moved so I have no reference numbers for the companies.Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself.

would love to win something 'proper'!!0 -

That's the problem I have. I'm sending a letter to MBNA, but only have the last four digits of the account number as shown on my CRF. Was wondering if that would do, along with the original credit card number? I've posted about it already, so hopefully someone will know.10/01/10 - Today I made an extra £88 on top of my salary

did you not put account numbers etc on your bankruptcy paperwork? I did much the same & contacted the court for a copy of my papers & they happily sent FOCWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

I still have the original copy of the paperwork from court. Looking at the entry for that particular account, I entered the card number and not the account number.
My CRF shows only the last four numbers of the account. If I phoned MBNA, do you think they would divulge the rest of the account number, so I can amend the letter before it is posted?10/01/10 - Today I made an extra £88 on top of my salary

CallCredit
At present I urge people correcting their files to concentrate on Equifax and Experian and I will do an update when I get certain information back from CallCredit and the companies they sell to.
Was there any specific method posted towards getting Call Credit records corrected
I'm asking as I'm now constructing the letters to the companies and I can't find a method specific to Call Credit amongst the relevant forums.
Of course I'm not saying it isn't here0
