Laptops *do* sometimes go wrong and replacing parts can be rather pricey. I'd buy as much cover as they're willing to sell me, ideally with on-site service.0

If you think there's roughly a 1 in 4 chance that the laptop will need replacing within 24 months, then the insurance is worth it. However, it's very unlikely that 25% of machines are returned and replaced so therefore I wouldn't think the insurance is a fair price.
I personally would stay well clear of "extended warranties" that cost almost 1/4 of the selling price.0 -
The laptop is not particularly good looking, but this is irrelevant. As what really bothers me is the size od the screen, its too small. I've been in-store to see this laptop and its good value for money but the best laptop. I don't fancy using the joystick in between the keyboard I prefer the other touch pad one.
I'm stuck between buying this IBM laptop or a Dell laptop using shop via e-value code as with the Dell you get more features for your money0 -
Just bought one today and am up and running on a WEP secured wireless connection and an upgrade to 512mb of Ram. Solid laptop, the only issue is it runs hot but all Celeron laptops do this.
Overall very pleased. No links in signatures please.0 -
what did you mean when you said how it runs, is it a bit slow?? does it lag0

Does it not say on the bottom of the laptop what "Type" it is?
More info on identifying this here:

However, to be absolutely certain you order the correct memory, why not use the system scanner on the RHS of the page you provided the link to?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

All the links fot R50e's will point to the same type of ram: DDR PC2700 • CL=2.5 • UNBUFFERED • NON-ECC • DDR333 • 2.5V
