BF know what u mean about pretending! my DH also has a very good job and we have recently moved ity to relocate so that he would be in a better position for ork. and all our friends have been coming up to visit and then insisting we all go out for dinner, and it was my DD 's birthday 7 weeks ago and everyone expected us to throw some really over the top party and day trip ( which 2 years ago i would definatley have done if she had been here) in the end we all had a family BBQ at our new house and then went to Lego land (using 2 for 1 vouchres) the day after. mine and my DH's parents know about the money situation but we pitched it more as a 'cash flow' problem. apart from that everyone assumes that with my DH's job that we must be doing great. it is exhausting (?spell?) and expensive to try and act like everything is fine and 'do' what everyone else wants to do. ugh!I can only please one person a day.... Today is not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look good either!!very greatful for almost everything i read on MSE (except for the nasties!)0

Thank you for sharing Piglet, that must get difficult although the image of a woman bobbing up and down at a desk is quite amusing! I wonder why you can eat at restaurants but not at work, do you not trust your collegues?
I have felt a bit insecure since a very skinny girl at work pointed at my 2sandwiches (4slices of bread) and said 'oo look she's made lunch for everyone!' they were ham salad and the lettace made them look really thick. That was a year ago but it's stuck in my head! I try not to let it affect my behaviour though.0 -
CChatter - Well after my OH found out the WHOLE truth he actually gave me a couple thousand pounds to make a huge dent in one of my credit cards so he's very understanding and quite concerned so much so that he's acting like a dad at times and I find that annoying...but I know why.
I don't know if I've mentioned in my other posts but I desperately need to do some exercise - but I'm not into gym clubs or anything like that. I think I need to be in a situation where I have to walk or do something fun...but I don't have the motivation and I've been saying this to myself for a few months now. I know what I need to do but I'm not doing it - and I know my health will start to suffer if I don't get this big body moving a lot more.....rant over.0 -
Piglet - I understand what you do to an extent, I'm like that when I'm out on the road or restaurants. I'll try not to eat anything when I'm walking outside, especially stuff I shouldn't really be eating.
I've started to really feel conscious going into some food shops because I'm wondering what they're thinking about me and talk to myself (in my head).0 -
Crazy, that is such a horrible thing of her to say, and I'm glad you didn't let it get to you, although I think it would make me feel sick inside... yuck.
Tess, my DH got a stepper and went on it for 10 minutes every evening while we were watching tely.. worked wonders.... in fact, I may get him another one today.....! Now there's an idea! Only problem is that they have a weight limit of 16stone on them - which DH is WAAAY over that, but they still last about 6 months, they just start to creak and eventually snap... lol!
Your OH sounds supportive and that's great, but I know what you mean about the dad thing.. all I have to do now is say 'Yes dad' to myOH and he looks really upset!!!!! Works though!!!
cmc, the silly thing is, that now I am so frugal, even when we are back to debt free and earning, I dont think I would do things anyway... but at least I would know i could afford it... lol aren't brains funny things?!?!Personal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T

That's not silly that's sensible!
Tesscha, I know how difficult it is to make excersize routine, I used to walk to work everyday but then I got my car and I drive in most of the time now. I have signed up to aqua arobics with a friend so hopefully we'll keep each other going. I've also joined a tennis club so me and the boyf will go there some weekends, but i'm pretty sure he'll get bored of that quite quickly!Excersizing while watching the telly is a good idea like BF says but i live with two male friends who would just laugh at me and my room is too small to fit any equipment in.0 -

I've got an interview for another job tomorrow, that's me got 2 on the go. This new one is really close to home and the money is really good, so I quite fancy it. I only emailed the CV today and they got right back to me so that is a good sign.
Wish me luck!!

Didn't get that one girls,
Never mind, it's their loss. Plenty more where that came from, I hope!!

Am logging off for a bit now, as I have to run some errands, but have just eaten a lovely jacket potato with a huge salad and homemade low-fat coleslaw. And the reason for telling you this is...
My "I'm a freak" confession.
The only reason I was able to eat this was because I am on my own in the office at 2nd job this week (boss is abroad). I have real problems eating in front of other people, but only in certain situations. I can eat with Mr P, friends and family, and can eat out in public with others in restaurants, etc. However, I find it very difficult to eat at work in front of people(cannot bring myself to go and eat in the communal kitchen in the office I work in on Mondays/Tuesdays), so find myself eating sandwiches at my desk. But even then I can't eat them "out in public" as it were
- I hide them under the desk, have to break them into mouthful-size pieces and keep up this elaborate bobbing up and down under the desk thing in order to try and eat a bit without anybody seeing!!
And I couldn't contemplate eating solo in a restaurant...
And yet the strange thing is that I am fully aware that people must realise that I do eat - I am a size 20-22 after all... I don't think anybody believes that I exist on fresh air alone! But I worry about people looking at what I am eating and judging me for it...
Well, thats my confession for today! (Thanks for letting me get it off my...not insubstantial...chest!!:rotfl:).

I'm the opposite of you, I'll eat almost anything anywhere, my young sister calls me 'chops' cause I lowve eating so much:rotfl: I'm a weirdo when it comes to people staying in my house though. I can't have a bath or anything when they are there, strange but true!!
