BF the pills you are talking about are probably called Xenical!! not all Doctors will give them to people, thankfully mine does!!! thats what i went to see him for today ( he said i had to lose half a stone first to prove i was serious!) so am gonna start tomorrow! but ur right about the side effects if you have more then about 30 grams of Fat!! I've been on them beofre and lost 2 stone in 6 weeks! but have gradualy put it all back on. Doc says if i gain again after this batch then its my own fault and he wont be prescribing them again.
would recomend them though they DO work, but u have to be careful with your fat intake ( thankfully Carbs are fine!)I can only please one person a day.... Today is not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look good either!!very greatful for almost everything i read on MSE (except for the nasties!)0 -
should point out the part of the idea with Xenical is that it is a lifestyle change, BECAUSE of the side affects you chage your diet to a very light fat diet and after 8 / 10 weeks ur so used to eating and buying specific foods the idea is that you can come off the tablets but have got into a good eating routine so the weight stays off! i am living proof that this isnt always the case lol but it reallly oes give you he kick up the backside needed to get ur eating habbits in check, and this tme i am ditermind to stick to it once the course runs out!
you may call it cheating, but this is my way of getting back on track. if i lose the weght I'll feel happier and more confident, and now we have the CCCS helping as well so finance and diet are being sorted!I can only please one person a day.... Hi guys
I've had quite a good day today. Walked home from work and made a healthy, portion-controlled dinner (pasta with courgettes and red peppers in a tomato/boursin sauce). So have stayed within my WW points for today, and am sitting here with a glass of Diet Coke, rather than wine...
I have also achieved my first NSD of the month!
I just wanted to say thank you to all of you. Since I have been posting on this thread, I have been managing to lose weight and spend less, and I have to credit all of you for my "success". I still have a long way to go , but knowing you are all here if I have a problem really helps, so I don't get the same urge to binge (OK, apart from the odd slip-up, but they are getting more few and far between at the moment!).
Special thanks to Jo for starting this thread in the first place, and long may it continue - you are all fabulous!!

Is there anywhere on line where you can work out what weight you should be? that would be handy, cos I don't really know.

Here's the link to the Weightwatchers website version. They base it on a BMI of between 20-25, so its quite wide. Not everybody agrees with the BMI method because muscle mass can distort your weight (the example usually used tends to be that rugby players and other sportspeople would work out as obese if using the BMI method), but it gives you a basic idea...

You'll never guess,
I've got an interview for another job tomorrow, that's me got 2 on the go. This new one is really close to home and the money is really good, so I quite fancy it. I only emailed the CV today and they got right back to me so that is a good sign.
Wish me luck!!

I would think 9st 10lb would be fine, Buffy - right in the middle of the range, so it gives you a little room for "slippage" during high days and holidays without becoming "overweight"
- sounds ideal! :T
Lynne - congrats on the interview for the 2nd job, and good luck for tomorrow.Jobs must be like buses, eh...you wait for ages and then 2 come along at once!

Good luck Lynne that is great, I read about your old boss the other day too you are in demand!! take advantage!
Cheers Piglet, am working out a plan to start on the first of September, hopefully to lose weight by Christmas. I have tried so many times but want to take it slowly. slowly seems to work for me. I always get there in the end!
