over spend and over eat

Good morning! Can I join please?? I was thinking this morning about how giving up spending and eating should fall into the same category, however it just... er ... doesn't... it's like giving up everything you enjoy all at once!
I'm about 4 stone overweight, and feel it most days. We are going on holiday on 26 August, so I am hoping to knuckle down and lose at least 1/2 stone by then?
Previously when on diets I used to go out and buy myself a book or some trousers or get my hair or nails done to take my mind off food - now I have given all that up; the only thing left is biting my nails... do nails have calories in them....???
Take care guys! xxPersonal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T

Well done Tara! I have decided to kick start myself again this week, with a stringent daily diet:
Breakfast: Orange Juice
Lunch: Slice of toast with nutella (to cure the chocolate cravings!!)
Tea: Whatever is on the menu, small portion with more veg than usual
Drinks: ONLY WATER
And I actually achieved this yesterday (apart from a second glass of juice in the evening) to my astonishment!! :A So far this morning, I've had my orange juice, and am trying to hold out as long as I can for the toast... I have a choir rehearsal tonight and so wont be home to eat until 9pm - so deliberatley brought NO money out with me so I cant be tempted to buy a packet of crisps to eat before 9pm... I think I may have 2 slices of toast though, otherwise I'll be famished by 9pm...!
Family bbq tomorrow evening... eeeek how do you eat healthily at a bbq???
btw, I'm in Birmingham:DPersonal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T

Well done on avoiding temptation. I have just had 2 salad rolls for lunch and am studiously avoiding the chocolate machine!!!Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I've had salmon sandwiches - very nice and very slimming. Still being good, the weather is rubbish here, but still warm. The shop is dead, the tumbleweed is rolling up the street, everyone is on holiday I think.:p0

Well done both! I had 2 slices of toast - and am drinking loads of water whenever I want a sweet.. only problem is my colleagues think there's something up with me because I keep running to the loo... :rotfl:Personal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T

I really want something to munch... there are apples sitting on the desk next to me, and I'm torn between telling myself an apple is not bad; and at the same time letting myself down by snacking inbetween meals.. maybe I should take it with me to rehearsal later so when I get ravenous I have something to eat.... ?Personal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T
