  • Hi everyone

Jo I'm the same it doesn't seem to matter whether I'm happy or miserable I still eat badly! The only time in my life I've been able to lose weight successfully was when my last relationship broke up 2 1/2yrs ago. I lost 4 stone in 4 months and was doing really well at work too - anything not to think about him. But I was at the gym every night and when I got my life sorted and started being social and happy again the not eating and going to the gym all the time went out the window. I'm really cross at myself because as much as I know bring outside in the fresh air would really help my depression and boredom I just can't force myself. I tried today and then OH and I had a fight because he wouldn't go ice skating with me but he would buy me a mars bar the first time i asked! and i'm getting a big cheesy pizza for my tea. i'm the heaviest i've ever been - yet i went to evans today and a size 20 fitted shirt fitted me perfectly and i'm usually a 22/24. it must have been generously cut! OH isn't speaking to me because I am in such a mood about being heavy/at home all day

  • skint chick - do u have sky tv? if so put MTV on OR put the radio/a CD on and do 30 mins of exercise in the living room. When i lost the bulk of my stone thats gone so far it was because i exercised for 30 mins most mornings or evenings. Use tins of beans or bottles of water as weights if you have none :)

Do 25 lady press ups (where you have your knees on the ground not just feet).
Do as many shoulder lifts as you can (just lay down, knees bent, hands behind your head and raise a little, it doesnt need to be a lot honest).
Do 100 squats. Break them up into 10's or 20's if you need to :)
Star jumps or half jacks if you cant manage/dont like star jumps.
March on the spot or about the room with your water/beans/weights for a bit. Walk side ways for 4 steps and back again or fwd for 4 and back again.

Im not a fitness instructor by any means BTW lol - just telling you some of the easy peasy things you can do in the house, and its great when your done and your all sweaty! It makes you feel great and you know you have done some good! Even check out youtube for some exercise inspiration :)

Not ate too much today as yet so woohoo for that i guess. I did buy a wispa which I am trying to resist for as long as possible. Managed to get a flask in Tesco today so I can fill it with soup at lunch time to keep drinking at in an effort to avoid fatty and junk foods! I did however end up spending about £50 in tesco doh! got 5 boxes of celebrations for gifts *note to self DO NOT FEEL TEMPTED TO OPEN THEM* and some alcohol that was on offer for OH to save for Christmas, oh and some little wooden raindeer decs to put on gifts and brown paper to wrap my gifts up in (going all traditional, just need red ribbon or cream raffia now).
  • Hi girls

I just spent the best part of an hour reading this thread, i think its lovely that you are all supporting each other so much. Debt-busting and dieting are both very hard challenges in their own right and so to tackle the two at once is very commendable!!

I have been away from the board for a while but have spent this afternoon catching up and remembering everything i used to love about it!!

Anyway, just thought i'd say that you lot have made me smile and remember that there are some very good, hardworking people in the world - i wish you lots of success!!

  • thanks emmylou i have tons of music channels so i tried out your ideas this morning while OH was sleeping and feel a lot better for it. had some king prawns (half price in tesco) and green beans (frozen and microwaveable) for lunch with a sea salt and peppercorn fish rub i got - took 5 mins and hardly any effort. had a pizza last night but no choc afterwards like usual.

finally got OH's HUGE cd and dvd box sorted - made almost £60 selling more cds on music magpie then put the rest onto cd rack and dvds into shoeboxs for him to take upstairs to storage cupboard later. laundry done, ipod updated, list made for ebay - why are they no 5p listing days coming up soon? and kitchen cleaned. most productive day since i stopped work

  • Well done skint chick!!!! You will find that if you have exercised you won't want to eat as much junk either as you don't want to ruin the good work of your exercise! Keep it up, you will feel and see the benefits after only a week or two.

WTBAS - doh! we all have days like that though! The difference is you have drastically reduced how often you have those bad days!! (along with most of us :) ) so back on the wagon today :D

Well today ive had a mug full of tomato soup mixed with skimmed milk (i have to have milk in my tomato soup lol). Put the rest of the big tin in a flask to have when i feel like i am going to snack before dinner! Am sooooo hungry. Going to have the rest of the soup at some point, then spinach and ricotta caneloni (healthy living one) for dinner followed by a chocolate alpen bar as a "treat". Feel pleased i have got back on track today with no snacks and eating far to much (well hopefully if i make it through the day lol). Going to be a good week! I can tell lol *fingers crossed*
