  • skint chick - the 2lb a week chart is a healthy option :) but please dont feel put off if you dont lose the 2lbs a week, i have long periods of maintain (longest period was 5 weeks!), but the way i see it is that when im at my target weight i will find it easier to stick at it :)

sink or swim - i find tesco ice lolly's a great low fat "sweet" thing to eat and only 40ish calories, oh and low fat muller rice are 200ish and low fat tesco yoghurts are about 150 cals :)

Just been out shopping - walked instead of bussing it, :j and only used cash instead of cards. Thanks for messages, LilMissEmmyLou and Wantobeasaver. I must get organised and weigh myself / set some goals. Feeling very optimistic.

My food today v sensible, but I haven't had my tea yet - it's late in the evening when I get the munchies! I'll have to look at that crafty Xmas thread an keep my hands busy.

Breakfast - wholegrain cereal, banana, skimmed milk n coffee
Lunch - 2 slices wholemeal toast spread w pesto an little shavings of cheese
Dinner - Might have some of that chicken soup I froze a while ago - very filling and tasty. Trouble is, I always want something sweet in the evening - should get some low-fat yogurt in! I'll try an make do with an apple tonight.

    Hi Sink or Swim,

Welcome to our thread. You were mentioning sweet things, WTBAS swears by pink and white wafers, they sell them in farmfoods. They are very sweet and are low fat and taste nice. She'll vouch for them!! Remember and keep coming back, I fall off the wagon all the time, but pick myself up again when I remember that i've to report here:rotfl: .

  • Thanks for good ideas. I'll get some of those ice lollies I think. I like idea of wafers too - have to find out where Farmfoods is - maybe other wafers good too?

Afraid I found a bag of raisins tonight an had too many handfuls of them.

  • raisins are fruit - i wouldnt worry too much :) I know they are high in sugars but at least its natural sugars rather than the sort in a chocolate bar.... unlike me who had 1/4 of a box of chocolates last night doh! I was having such a good day too! If you like dried fruit why not try apricots as they are very filling after a few, just eat them slowly :)

Did the bulk of my Christmas shopping last night in boots. Got £28 back in points woohoo, £45 worth of gifts free on the 3 for the price of 2 offer and err spent £120 something. But for that I did get 10 people their gifts and some bits for DD and the naughty box of chocolates for me lol. Not bad spending imo. Returned a dress to m&s but as i had lost the receipt i exchanged part of it for some new smaller underwear and then got a £30 credit note, which I think I will turn into vouchers for my mum and nan for Christmas gifts. That leaves me with only a few people to buy, 1 friend, my granda, OHs dad and cousin then I am 100% sorted! Not long till the tree goes up hehe!
  • Welcome sinkorswim!

I was naughty yesterday as they had free crisps and biccies in my training so even though I had just had lunch I had a packet and four biscuits, but i was good when i went to sainsburys and didn't buy any of the usual junk. I'm having fatjis tonight, they aren't that healthy but I'll try to have more vegetables and no nachos.
I finally bought some scales last night, hoping if I weigh in regurly I'll stay on the plan better.

My office is all dressed up today in fancy dress for Children in Need, it's all so cheery!

  • wooohooo Jo!!! Welcome back for the weekend at least!!! Hows the weight loss going?! and the saving?

WTBAS - perhaps ur scales only showed a 1lb loss due to the late night eating and ur body still being a bit bloated? Well done either way! A loss is a loss regardless of how much it is :)

Crazychatter - boo to the crisps at the training day!! Its hard to resist isnt it? Try bringing a fizzy drink with you to make you feel a little fuller with all the bubbles, to trick u into perhaps not wanting the snacks for a bit longer and having less of them or if ur lucky none at all :D
  • Hi! Just checking in. Decided to set myself a target to lose half a stone by Xmas. Not exactly challenging, but will keep my mind focused on losing rather than gaining. I'll weigh myself tomorrow an then keep a record.

WTBAS - I agree about the scales - it's so depressing to have tried hard all day and then find it doesn't show on the scales. I think it's better to weigh only once a week. I have other ways I use during the week, like how tight my trousers are, or ... when I'm slimmer ... how flat my tummy feels when I'm lying flat in bed in the morning. There's so many things that can affect the scales, but it should show changes over a week.

LMEL - :T I do like apricots, and they have lots of vitamin A ... will have to concentrate on eating slowly!

    Night night!

  • Hiya to new members, as you will already have found out girls in this thread are just the best. They were sooooo there for me when i was all mixed up :A . (still am but not as much)

1st thing, hope you are all well and still going forward (and backwards like me). My OH knows all about my money troubles. I was keeping it all to myself, as I have always dealt with all of our money. It all came about because i bumped my car (my fault) and i was so upset, it just all came out. So i feel a lot better now that he knows, he was fab about it and although he has less of an idea about money than me, we sat at the table and made some plans. Then I took him off to the bank, they were of no help what so ever. So changed banks and new bank, have been fab. Its a lot easier to be able to say, we cant afford that, than agreeing and trying to find the money from somewhere. Which is how this all started ( i think) be ashamed to say cant afford it, then not paying one thing to get something else. Stupid i know.

On the eating front. Weeeeell i would have thought that now my money problems our out int the open, this would improve, less stress etc ? No such luck  I am quite at ease, so just happy to eat ?????? Dont know if I will ever get my head around this eating too much lark. Like now for instance. I am really wanting a cooked breakfast, but I am not in the stightest bit hungry ?.

Well gota go for now, I think i have told you's i have a brother who is "downs" mam has gone away for the weekend and I am here looking after little "bro" and decorating mams kitchen.

Bye for now, have a fab weekend and i will be back on later.
