  • oh no my pair of "i want you to bloody fit" trousers are size 10 cropped brown cords which where always sooooo comfy and pretty. Not sure they are fashionable any more lol but i do want to fit them!

CC looking fwd to the pics too AND i think we all lack motivation. I keep getting OH to take pics of me front on and side on and send them to me and it reminds me how roley poley i am even though i dont feel that roley poley when i look in the mirror - odd how thats happens ey? but it helps keep me in check and not in dream world!

  • had a bit of an accident with a box of coop choc orange biccies - they're my major weakness and i live right by the coop. i'd been behaving all day too. i'm really frustrated being at home all day it's having a really negative effect on my relationship with OH, my stress levels and my eating. i have nothing to keep my mind off food:mad: and because i'm stressed i feel like i deserve a treat to make myself feel better. i was on appetite suppressants from the doctor and they were working really well with no side effects and the weight loss was motivating me to go the gym. Then I had problems at work and now because I'm on medication I'm not allowed the diet pills so I've put on almost a stone again! I really want to lose weight because when I was losing weight my periods came back and we really want to start a family. Sorry for the mad rant I have so much on my mind - weight, finances, my relationship

  • Hi Skint Chick,

I would start off by keeping a spending diary, get a cheap notebook (maybe not from co-op) and you can try spendingdiary.com to keep track of it on the internet. Then you can see exactly how much you are spending on food, and it might put you off a bit. I would have a look at the grocery challenge on old style, there are a lot of great recipies on there, and they say that twinks hob nobs are brilliant. These might be better than buying the co op biccies.

Everything should fall into place with OH, we all have a wee rough patch here and there.

Welcome on board with us, we will keep you right!!

  • This is a fantastic thread - just read a lot of posts and realise I'm not alone! I've always let money slip through my fingers, and always had a hearty appetite, but was never overweight or in debt, until major emotional trauma over 20 years ago.

Since then I've lurched along, at times 5 stone overweight, and increasingly in debt. At the moment my head is in the right place - I am determined not to carry the load of guilt and shame that comes with debt, or the load of extra weight dragging me down. This site is therapy! So many lovely positive, funny people! I found myself laughing and crying as I read the messages.

Hope I can hang on to this upbeat feeling! I'm approaching retirement and feel I have wasted the last 20 years, in terms of looking after myself. I'm going to plan for the next 20 years in a totally different way!

Thanks and love to everyone who's added their encouragement.

  • Oh dear skint Chick, i'm sorry things are so rough for you at the moment, The only thing I can think of is getting some hobbies, do you like any crafts? the crafty for christmas thread on here is great fun and lots of people are doing lots of different crafts at all levels, I always find making something with my hands takes my mind off food, even if just for a little while. Sock monkeys are a good starting point, not very expensive materials, just socks and stuffing, they aren't too difficult for those with little sewing experience and you end up with a cute monkey to show your efforts. Just an idea.

The annoying cleaner has just walked past while I was eating my jacket potato-vege chili, and said 'oh your always eating, you'll get fat again' and went on about it for the next five minutes! grrrr! last year when I lost 2stone he followed me up a corridor saying i had lost weight and that i was really fat before, rubbing his belly, he just kept going on about how fat i had been and how big my belly was! it's more annoying than upsetting but still not nice!

  • hey sink or swim :) nice to see another new face. Make sure you come back! Its the only way to keep up the encouragement and motivation :) Ive lost 1st and 1/2 a lb (yes that 1/2 a lb counts lol). from I started on here, down 4" on my bra back size (same cup size though), down 1 dress size in my tops and working on shrinking my bottom lol.

we do have times when we get stuck on platforms though (im stuck right now) need to hurry up and re motivate myself - still not happening! but this forum stops me going off the rails too much lol
  • Just been out shopping - walked instead of bussing it, :j and only used cash instead of cards. Thanks for messages, LilMissEmmyLou and Wantobeasaver. I must get organised and weigh myself / set some goals. Feeling very optimistic.

My food today v sensible, but I haven't had my tea yet - it's late in the evening when I get the munchies! I'll have to look at that crafty Xmas thread an keep my hands busy.

Breakfast - wholegrain cereal, banana, skimmed milk n coffee
Lunch - 2 slices wholemeal toast spread w pesto an little shavings of cheese
Dinner - Might have some of that chicken soup I froze a while ago - very filling and tasty. Trouble is, I always want something sweet in the evening - should get some low-fat yogurt in! I'll try an make do with an apple tonight.

  • i've had a better day today - walked 45mins into town to get a couple of mystery shops done then went to buy groceries. we had nothing left in the house so i spent £59 but it should do for over two weeks apart from topping up fruit and veg. planned lots of healthy meals so i'm not snacking in the evenings or because i can't be bothered making anything. my OH works shifts and doesn't really eat at home apart from sweets so it's difficult to plan meals.

going to dentist for a filling tomorrow so i won't be able to eat anything much after it - should keep me away from chocolate! doing a mystery shop for kfc on sat though -but i guess i don't have to eat it all!

i am almost 10 stone over my ideal weight so apart from waiting til the bmi charts change i'd like to lose at least 8 stone and weigh less than OH. He's one of those annoying men that never puts on weight whatever he eats. I'm going to aim for 2lb a week from now on so it'll take me 13months to get there. Does that sound unrealistic? Should I aim lower??
