  • Morning, I'm finding it really hard to stay in my sin allowance but I'm not going to beat myself up about it cos I know I'm doing much better than I was so every improvment is a good thing.

Jo, i think you need to let go of the losing a stone in ten days idea! just focus on being happy with how well you've done so far! I'm so jealous of everyone going on holiday!!

Emmylou, that's fab!! Naughty naughty Lynne, but I'm sure you'll be better today! oo I do love crumbles!

Hiya CC well done on the not beating your self up :T :T :T as we say any improvement is good.

As for the 1 stone for hols. i know is not possible but I just think it is, stupid i know. I have lots of these silly mind games to get rid off.

I'm not really looking forward to my holiday, as I'm fat and clothes don't fit properly and no Chance for new ones. I of course have not lossed the weight that was intended, so to fit into holly clothes.

  • Hi All,

Just popping in to say hi and to remind you all of what jo tells me - its the small things.

Want cake? have cake, no point in making yourself miserabel - but instead of buying an expensive choc cake get down the shop and get ingredients and make a nice carrot cake - 1 portion of veg, much cheaper and you can probably buy enough ingredients to make 3 cakes for the same price as buying one slice in an evil high street coffee shop!!!!

I think everyone needs to make SMART targets (can you tell ive been studying lol)

Specific - i.e. i want to exercise for 20 minutes
Measurable - i.e. i will use a stop watch to time myself and will RECORD my times
Achievable - i.e. in reality i want to run a 1 minute mile - not going to happen!!! so just by exercising for 20mins my fitness will improve.
Relevant - i.e. i hate rowing so im not saying row for 20 mins becuase it will never happen!!!
Time specific - i.e. i want to do 20 minutes for at least 3 days per week - that way when i measure my time i can monitor my progress and adjust the target accordingly.

Now thats not my target (i dont have any at the moment but you guys dont need me being all smug and happy so im keeping that til the board is a bit chirpier) but i hope it helps people focus (if that makes sense)

I can see this post is already a typical puzzled random rant so im going to speak to all you lovely ladies later

    xxxx
  • lol puzzled did u study management too?? Im still using smart objectives on any projects i do on my degree lol (last yr wooo).

Jo try setting a target of 3 - 4lbs to lose before you go on holiday. Much more manageable and it all makes a difference :) Then on holiday lots of little walking excursions and keep up the good work. You never know you could even come back a lb or 2 lighter :)

CC - i find it easier to stick to less naughties if i promise myself the bad stuff at the end of the day. You could try buying something nice (choccy bar or whatever) for the evening and just tell yourself "but if i eat it now, i have nothing to look fwd to" and then after dinner sit down with ur feet up watching tv and have your yummy treat for behaving all day :D
  • Hey lil,

Nope, im doing a CIPS course - working from home and got exams in November and im wetting myself, still got 5 lessons etc to do and only 3 weeks til i go on holiday - have loads to do before then!!!!!!!!!

Last year of a degree is soooooo stressful but all worth it in the end!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hiya, Thankyou for reminding me. I seem to have lossed focus these passed few weeks. I agree with your post and I will get back on the wagon right now. Whoops just hopped on.

  • you are always so upbeat, tell how you do it. OK I will except your challenge :j. I am aiming for 4lbs and through my holiday I will do some moving, swimming and walking. I am a good long distance swimmer. I can swim about 30 lenghts without stopping. I just dont, sooooo shamefull.

Done another 1hr with DGD and pushchair today

  • Right this is a solemn oath to all you fab girls who came on board to help me.

I have lossed sight a bit over the last few weeks of what i am trying to do.

    So from here on in.

I Jo am going to do my very very best at overcoming my over eating and over spending mountains. I will post daily on my progress, regardless of any given situation (except breakdown of computer). And if i appear to be slacking I want no words of comfort (well maybe 1 or 2) I just want a good ticking off and a good kick up the a**e.

    Well done, Jo! :T

I think you're right - I have lost the way slightly this week (weigh in tomorrow and I am almost certainly bouncing upwards again!). My goal was also 1 stone by 14th September - at the moment it stands at 9lbs lost (but it will be less by this time tomorrow...!). So, here is my statement...
    • I promise to focus on the positive little steps I make each day, and to stop trying to sprint before I can jog! :D
    • I am pleased because I weigh less than I did 7 weeks ago, and I probably would have increased my weight had I not been posting on here with you guys.HStype.gif
    • I don't have to set myself an end date - as long as I continue making baby steps, I will reach goal eventually. :p
    • I am eating less of those expensive and fatty takeaways. nono.gif pizza.gif nono.gifdonut.gif
    • I am walking more, and spending less on busfares. running.gif
    • The road is long, but I'll get there eventually in my own sweet time...:rotfl:

  • Piglet i love this one "I don't have to set myself an end date - as long as I continue making baby steps, I will reach goal eventually." Thats a great one!!! However I would like to be fitting my old clothes by Christmas/early January lol.

Jo 1 hr with the pram today again is fab!! Get thee to the pool and swim! if you find it easy its such an easy way to get rid of fat and tone up!

done 23 mins of Davina today... gave up at that stage because i did it with "mostly music" rather than mostly talking lol... by mostly they should say ONLY because there was NO directions at all and thus by the time i got to the floor stuff, i couldnt actually see what they where doing and gave up lol. Want to go for a walk with Miss Annabelle when she wakes up but it keeps raining and i have no waterproof coat at the moment :( Need to sort one out to ensure I can walk to uni when its raining and not get a lift!
