    Never mind floozie,

If you've lost it before, you can do it again. What is lighter life, is that the one where you need to drink shakes, I don't think they are a good idea, better trying cutting down this time I think!!

It could be worse, you could be going to the wedding with a rashy face and a burnt peg leg like I've got at the moment!!:rotfl:

  • IF - your post sounded like I had written it myself! I also recently had to buy a size 18 pair of jeans for the first time, usually drift between 14 and 16 (was a size 12 at Uni many moons ago and thought I was fat then!) I am 14st 1lb as well and have never been this big in my whole life, I hate the way I look at the moment and nothing I wear flatters me, just sometimes makes me look less fat! God how depressing :( I am starting slimming world tomorrow though and as I have a big incentive to lose weight (a wedding) I am really going to go for it this time. So hopefully along with the others losing weight we can support eachother, it is really helpful when you have someone to talk to about how the diets going :D
  • I just feel like I have spent the last ten years on a constant "on-a-diet-off-a-diet" diet. I've tried: Lighter Life (yes it is Shakes), Cambridge Diet (more shakes), Slimming World, Calorie Counting, Weight Watchers and low-carbing (lasted about 5 minutes). I can really easily fall off the ladder as soon as I step on it, and don't even have an internal argument with myself. The only sensible one I can think I haven't done is Rosemary Conley and there aren't any locally and I know I'll get fed up of driving to the nearest class - especially with the dark nights drawing in, and the fact it don't finish til 9pm.

So, I'm just going to have another go at Calorie Counting AGAIN!! I know it works, and I know I have to cut back and I can't eat how much I want to eat.

  • IF - the hard bit is getting the midset right. Once you have the mind set of eating sensible foods it becomes easier. I started this healthier eating lark mid July and although I have only lost 8lbs in that time, i do eat a lot better and exercise a lot more because in my mind I know if I dont i will feel bad and knowing I have been good makes me feel good! Because of that, now even on naughty weeks, I maintain rather than gain because of the simple fact, what is naughty now is no where near as bad as what i would have been eating before! Fill your house with the good foods that you enjoy and then you dont feel deprived :) I tend to buy the odd treat items like say a bar of dark chocolate - or i make flap jacks BUT chuck them in the freezer! then you have to really think about it before you eat because they need to defrost for a while! Good luck!!!

Jo - over 16lbs get a size 2 :) The nappies I am recommending generally only come in 2 sizes, 1 and 2. Size 2 does from 16 - 35lbs ish :) so would do until she was done :)

munchinkel - take that sad face out of your siggy now!!! its not sad knowing you need to lose 70lbs its good that you know you need to lose it :) other wise you would still happily be munching your way up the ladder and would have more to lose in the long run! The first step to :) was knowing you need to lose it! so Well done!!!!
  • Hahaha EmmyLou that made me laugh - you're right I need to stop being sad, and be positive that I'm doing something about it, check out the new siggy happy face!
  • Welcome Floozie, I second Emmylou, if you're not in the right frame of mind then you wont succeed with any plan, but if you are genuinely determined you will, that you have come on here shows willingness and we will all support and believe in you! Unfortuntely, we do have to deny ourselves things that we want but in the long run I think we will be happier once we reach our targets!
I walked 7miles yesterday!!! from the car garage to work and back, I feel so pleased that I didnt spend £4.50 on the bus and got some excersize instead!
    xx
  • That's better Munchinkel!!! lol!
  • yeeeeeah mel - much better siggy :)

crazychatter wow!well done on 7 miles! i didnt walk home from town today for the simple fact it was bucketing it down! Had a really great day though - got a free dvd and toy from the night garden screening, then went to boots and got 2 free cleanser/exfoliators with vouchers and no 7 nail polish for £1.25 with the other £5 off voucher. Bought myself a new sports bra which was a 36 F  which pickled me and the bra fitter as she said my current 36 E was clearly getting too big. and then the new underwired bra was a 34 E :rotfl:so ill go with it - down a back size :T also got 3 new tops ALL size 12s :jso thats me down a dress size on top for sure as had it just been one i might have put it down to a fluke... but not 3 :D. Going to do another Davina work out when madam goes to bed in 30 mins. SO yes! all in all a great day for me... oh and all the new CDs i ordered on Monday have been dispatched and one arrived today already :D Long may this great mood last!
  • Hi everyone,

Not been on this thread for a few weeks. I have bitten the bullet I rejoined weightwatchers as it seems to be the only way to motivate myself (its very MSE cause mum is paying for the monthly pass for me! :P ) I am also going to start going swimming again in the bid to loose at least a stone by Christmas.
Moneywise not doing that baddly, trying hard not to spend on unnessesary items and it seems to be working so far.

  • Hey everyone,

I'm reading lots of comments on here that I could have written myself today! I havent been happy with my weight for a good 6 years and despite being constantly weight conscious in that time I'm now 2 stone heavier than 6 years ago! I always say I'm determined to change but never really manage to get into the swing of things. I'd really like to be able to change my whole way of life to be healthier and slimmer but really struggle with working full time, looking after my four year old, cleaning the house etc etc etc. I'd much rather exercise was part of my lifestyle than something I have to try and squeeze in between everything else i.e. walking and not using the car but its just not practical. Hopefully the money side of things will be able to sort that when I get to my DFD.
Anyway, this has turned into a bit of a rant but its weigh day for me tomorrow and although i've been good food wise this week the exercise hasnt quite gone to plan so it just might be another disappointing week. I'm feeling a bit low about and wish I could give myself the kickstart I need. Grr

Sorry about the rant - one of those days!
