So Liverpool not so good then ? I have never been and never heard anything about it, just as you say people party there. I just love the way they talk. I can slum it with the best of them if need be, I am no snob :rotfl:

Hi All!
Weigh in day for me today! Aaargh! I've managed to put on a pound in a week. I know its my own fault as i am rubbish at eating healthily but I've been getting up at 6am most days to run for half hour before work so I'm feeling a bit hopeless and depressed today. I'm starting to find that too much knowledge is really not helpful as there are pro's and cons to eating just about anything so now I dont know what to eat and end up just grabbing whatever is around!! I've read so many books on diet and health and e numbers and additives but cant seem to make a healthy decision! Whats a girl to do??!!!
Hiya Freeme, OMG running every morning, I'm soo proud and jealous. I HATE exercise but know i must get some done. I have had "Tara" on a few piddly walks and I am "thinking" of swimming" but thats it. I agree with Emmylou, its probably muscle weight, do you feel more toned ?
And i am SOOOOOO with you on all the contradictory info that is about on dieting. I could write a couple of books of my own. Just what info do you go with ? It sure is a head ache

Piglet - I'm heading to Sharm El Sheik for a week with my sister. Really cant wait to get there, just need to lie on a beach for a few days and do nothing. Not had a full week away from any work since about Sep last year
I've been good today, 7 cups of water (FREE!!) and an activia yoghurt (for the good bacteria :j ) so been running to the loo every 30mins.
GW in Liverpool - that would be amazing cause thats where I am from originally  so I could get my accent back!!

Did all those things a year ago and it was trying to save money that led to me giving up altogether. Within about 3 months, I'd put on over 2 stone, none of my clothes fitted and the depression which exercise helped fend home came back with a hell of a bang.
In looking around a while back, the Council gyms were cheaper by about £12 a month, but I found the equipment at my nearest one really poor quality so didn't go. After a month, I'd been twice for £38. The other cheapest was the Virgin gym which is the other side of the city centre. In reality, it's not far in mileage terms, but the thought of tackling city centre traffic at rush hour to get to the gym and taking 40 mins to get there as opposed to 7 mins to my usual gym meant I ended up - you guessed it! - not going. Went 3 times in about 6 weeks.
When I was at my fittest and healthiest - which was about 4 years ago - I used my present gym twice a day, 6 days a week so the visits were working out about £1.10 a visit which for a 2 hour visit is pretty good (don't panic - the 2 hours was the total eahc day not each visit!). I'd love to be able to get back to that as I felt great being confident in my appearance (which was always the thing I was bullied about at school), my health and fitness was great as I completed a marathon in a little over 4 hours. Going from being that active to doing nothing was heart-breaking.
I had a false start about 3 months back when I was going there 3 times a week catching up with old friends and things. I loved to be back, but when I went to a class I used to love going to one night, one woman made a chuffing horrid comment, "Did you put all that weight on when you had a baby or something?". I was so hurt, I burst into tears - which lasted about 3 days - and said to her, "No. I haven't had kids. I'm just fat. I was fat when I was at school. I was fat when I was a teenager, and thanks for reminding me that I'm fat now in my 30s". When I stopped crying, I actually found it quite funny as she got way more than she bargained for making that comment to me! I hope her tears lasted way longer than mine! From memory, her face did fall apart with shame when I answered her back!
So, I'm back at the gym and while £50 a month is a lot, I literally have no other vices (non-smoking teatoller who hasn't had a night out in about 4 years), so I feel quite comfortable spending £12.50 a week to get me feeling great again and doing that one thing that makes me feel very alive.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
Hey everybody, just been having a look at eberyones posts and OMG it is me! I over eat as i am depressed about being overweight (work that one out) and in debt. I am so down about being so in debt and I cant see a way out. I have attempted weight watchers but dont seem to have the willpower. I am stuck in a rut.0

Munchkin, if there is one thing I've picked up here is that there is always a way out. The guys on this site are so friendly and supportive and always full of great ideas.
Welcome to the thread, keep us posted with how you are doing, what you are doing and whats going well for you.
You'll soon notice that I'm the biggest sinner here, forever falling off the healthy eating wagon and end up eating rubbish so dont feel guilty at all (just dont follow my lead!! heehee).

Hiya Jo,
I've signed myself up to do a 10k run for Cancer research to make sure I have to do some exercise! I've got 3 weeks til the run and NEED to get fit!
I'm really into reading everything I can on diet and exercise - I find it fascinating, but it certainly makes for a headache when I have to decide what to listen to!
Hope you feel better soon btw x'What doesnt kill me only makes me stronger'Official DFW Member #1036 - Proud to be dealing with my debtsKeep Calm and Carry On0
