Thank you for the support & hugs & pm's - you are all so lovely. I feel fractionally less pitiful than I did this morning. Kaat, I know you dont' mean it in a bad way; I understand what you mean (and the others who have said similar sentiments). It is sooooo frustrating though - I understand he has a lot going on & it is a tough time - but I still think some sort of acknowledgement would have been possible - he was quick enough to get in touch when he was keen a few weeks ago (must be the convincing salesman in him).

I have had a text from him this morning simply saying "sorry". I replied (against my better judgement in some ways, but couldn't just leave it..!) saying I thought there was a spark too, but obviously not, felt very hurt & used, and if he'd wanted a 1-night stand (tmi, sorry) he should have said so. He did answer that & said no, he hadn't just wanted that, a lot had happened but he hadn't meant to hurt me & wished me well. Which was a bit of a non-answer really, so I just said thanks for the good wishes, was very disappointed we won't meet again but that's his choice & I wished it was different. I don't think I will hear from him again.

It just doesn't put me in the frame of mind to "dust myself down" and get back out there unfortunately. And every time something like this happens your experience clouds any new meetings - which isn't ideal.
Thanks to you all again. You are lovely.

Hi Squiggly. Been there done that....on several occasions. and it's cr*p isn't it? and when it's happened to me I felt dejected, rejected, not good enough, p****d off and all the other worthless feelings that go with it. But then ,when you think about it they are the losers, they obviously aren't good enough for you anyway, you probably had a lucky escape from his shallowness. Every knockback makes you a stronger person-you probably can't see it now but believe me it does.
At least you have good friends to lean on.
Oh and I'm great at being really strong for everyone else ...just not for myself
Have a great evening and just think it's his loss not yours

    Hi all,

A Wolfy (((hug))) for all who want/need it, especially Squiggly - sorry you've been hurt by this man.

Busy day today, as Mr LW is here to help with the jobs I can no longer manage alone.

Been shopping this morning - fruit'n'veg from the market, I've found a great Saturday market, the stuff is inexpensive, and better quality than I have been getting from the supermarkets. Also, minimal packaging, so that's good too.

In case I don't get online tomorrow, have a good weekend everyone.

    Afternoon all
I'm very late getting online as I've been doing housework all day, we have guests this evening.
Only 3 more days before the end of term, I'm really looking forward to a few days break. I need to throw myself into my NVQ & do some of the assignments, I've also signed up for another course so I'm going to be exceedingly busy, lol.
BIL has gone away for the weekend to we have only ourselves to consider for a while.
I better go, DD is on her way with DGS & DGD.
I hope everyone has a good day
    Hugs Hester

TattyCath - thank you. Dejected - that's exactly the word that sums it up. Yep, it is carp :( I know what you mean too, that's me - strong for everyone else. Most of the time I am for me too, but every now & then something just hits a nerve.

Why do they join dating sites if they're not ready to date?????? Especially sites that you pay to join - I know on the free ones there's a lot of idiots but I expected someone serious about what they were looking for having paid a subscription. But hey-ho, that's life & there's nothing I can do about it - and yes, at least I discovered early on.

Right, I really am off to my mate's shortly, just going to pack a few things & pick my mum up. Have a good weekend all.

sorry to be so thick - i am trying to not waste food and I have some 3 day old bread. I have read on here that people make breadcrumbs. but do you freeze the bread? or do you make breadcrumbs then freeze them and if so do they go soggy when defrosted
    thanks

:hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: Hi everyone.

Given up on the stiff upper lip for a few days and left camping because it would not stop raining and you can only pretend you are having a wonderful time for so long.

The york Moors were so beautiful but we were burgled
the squirrels got in the tent in the night and stole our Rich Tea biscuits!!!! Could have understood it if they were Twinks hobnobs!!!

So before moving on to the Dales we have called in at a very good friends and dried out a bit. Of course the decision could have been based on the Golf for the OH !!

OS wise. We have been really good cooking and eating in the tent and obviously saving a bomb camping in the van.Shame that petrol had to go mad this year as we have been planning this retirement trip for years.

We have been using libraries for the internet and charity shops for books so trying to keep all the good OS ways going.

Been knitting hats for Wooligans as we travel and they are everywhere .1 hat = 50 miles!!!!!

It has seemed very strange being offline for so long and I am sure loads must have happened to you all. So congratulations for all the goodand happy things and special gentle thoughts to all who need them.
Try and do a good deed every day.

    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Good afternoon

House duly cleaned, shopping done, and now just waiting onslaught of people.

It turned out quite nice here in the end - except for the three minutes when I was walking to Sainsbury's - then there was a downpour - not enough to water my pots, but enough to bedraggle me!

Still not put flat pack together - it's been sitting there two weeks now.....better go get on with it!

    PO xx

PS: Sorry - don't know the answer to the breadcrumbs question!
