I'm eating my second Twinkle
Yummmmmmmy
I was going to bake them at the same time as the bread but I couldn't wait lol.
I think I broke the breadI usually make the dough in the breadmaker then bake in the oven but I decided to do it 'properly'. Trouble is, I put the ingredients in in the same order as you do for a breadmaker. So I got to the end and realised I should've added the yeast earlier  I mixed the yeast up with a bit of water, made a sort of pot shape with the dough, poured the yeast in and kneaded like mad, hopefully it'll be ok

Hi, I'm back from doing my good deed for the morning
No doubt the three musketeers that I dropped off at Birkdale this morning will be safely tucked up inside their hospitality tent watching the golf on the big screens.
I might have managed to blag myself a ticket for tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
I called in to give my uncle a couple of bottles of red for his Birthday on my way home.
I've now changed into my cleaning clothes and have a hot date with the tiles in the shower, a bottle of bleach and a nail brush. _pale_ But I have angled the TV so I can see it from the bathroom and I'll feel quite virtuous cleaning whilst watching.
Hugs to those in need.
PenPin, enjoy the break.

HI all - just grabbed a break from the ironing.
Gena - thanks for the advice about the savoury impossible pie - I shall try that. I'm doing the Remoska risotto today because it was a success the last time I did it but just needed a little more stock for the amount of rice in the recipe. A good cheap meal, though!
RedRuby - I'm glad you are feeling better.
David Tennant is lovely but also a fantastic actor. Did anyone see him in Casenova? That was great; then he was in something else last year playing a scary evil part really convincingly and it was that that made me realise just how good he is. I'm sure he'll become one of our national treasures like David Jason. I love hearing him talk, too, with that sexy accent!
Well, I've had my hair newly blonded and feel so much better; it's surprising what a difference your hair can make to how you feel.
I've been to the Post Office and it was lovely and sunny but now keeps clouding over. I've got a line full of washing so I hope it stays dry.
Candygirl - (((hugs))) to your Dad but also to your Mum too - she sounds as if she needs them, bless her.
Well, back to the ironing which I'm doing while watching Werner Herzog's 'Fitzcarraldo' which I recorded the other day; it has German subtitles so I know DH won't want to watch it! I love all Herzog's stuff because he knows how to create an atmosphere and all his work is so original. I have a couple more of his films to watch. He also did a fascinating documentary about the Tibetans - anything in that part of the world I am really interested in. I am also going to record 'The Red Shoes' this afternoon - another one that DH won 't be interested in. I shall watch it next week when he's back at work!
Anyway, will see you all later.

Afternoon all
Not been around the last few days as i've had my head down writing my essay. Am pleased to say that it is done and posted and that's my degree finished :j . Feel like I have survived some great natural disaster.
Have not read the thread so hugs to all of you today and hopefully those of you on hols will have a lovely time.
Have just dug up my spuds at the allotment, both salad and first earlies. Have just made potatoe salad. Oh boy you can taste the soil when you eat it:D .
Off to collect DS from a friends house and go shopping. Have a lovely day all.

Hello everyone
I've finally surfaced after the wedding yesterday - I didn't go to bed until about 4.30am though I feel surprisingly OK today. I'm being cheeky and putting a link here to the paid entertainment's website. They were damn good I can tell ya! There are four songs on the link, but I think the best one is Still in Love (which they didn't play yesterday as it wasn't quite appropriate!). Enjoy!

Squiggly - some of us ladies have to kiss a lot of frogs before the right one appears. Dust yourself down and hold your head up high that bloke sounds like second best. You deserve someone sincere and genuine and who deserves your good heart.
Blairweech - hope you get the fittings for your wardrobe. Sometimes the old-fashioned hardware shops are the best place to get such items as they can understand the most incoherent descriptions of things and lay their hand on just the thing you need. B&Q is a bit lacking in soul when it comes to customer service I find.Should finish off painting the fiddly bits in the downstairs loo
wmf - good luck getting your fiddly bits covered in paint:rotfl:;)
Today is turning out to be a good drying day so I'm off to bung more washing in the machine.
Bye

((((((mary43))))) for today, and also ((((candygirl)))))
JannyAnnie, well done!!!!!!!!!!! Huge treats in order for you.
Snowy, I like little shops like that - they always know what you mean!!
Thank you for the support & hugs & pm's - you are all so lovely. I feel fractionally less pitiful than I did this morning. Kaat, I know you dont' mean it in a bad way; I understand what you mean (and the others who have said similar sentiments). It is sooooo frustrating though - I understand he has a lot going on & it is a tough time - but I still think some sort of acknowledgement would have been possible - he was quick enough to get in touch when he was keen a few weeks ago (must be the convincing salesman in him).
I have had a text from him this morning simply saying "sorry". I replied (against my better judgement in some ways, but couldn't just leave it..!) saying I thought there was a spark too, but obviously not, felt very hurt & used, and if he'd wanted a 1-night stand (tmi, sorry) he should have said so. He did answer that & said no, he hadn't just wanted that, a lot had happened but he hadn't meant to hurt me & wished me well. Which was a bit of a non-answer really, so I just said thanks for the good wishes, was very disappointed we won't meet again but that's his choice & I wished it was different. I don't think I will hear from him again.
It just doesn't put me in the frame of mind to "dust myself down" and get back out there unfortunately. And every time something like this happens your experience clouds any new meetings - which isn't ideal.
So I'm off to my mate's in Kent shortly for supper out somewhere, a girly catch-up and a change of scene for the night. My lovely mummy is coming to stay with my girls.
Thanks to you all again. You are lovely.
EDit: I am now "anti"............ (I decided to remove the company he works for & what he sells, it's not fair to identify someone &/or their relatives just cos they've hurt me. So thought better of it.)Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0
