Good morning all - feeling very under the weather today in spite of blue sky outside. Had a bit of a painful night last night - OH in an angry mood, and it really upset me, so things are a bit strange today.
Yesterday was practical though. Got a lot of stuff made to go in the freezer for times ahead, and nipped to Asda to look at the bargains. And that's what I'll be doing today, other than trying to finish off the teddy bear I'm knitting for a charity raffle.
Have a good day all.0 -
Morning
Off to work in a minute - I wish my boss would wait until Friday to ask if i want to work Saturday. Usually he asks midweek, and I feel fine then, but by the time Saturday comes around, I am knackered.
Just waiting for a lady off freecycle to come and collect a candle holder off me, but not sure if she is going to get here before I leave. Got a new wardrobe off Freecycle, but lost all the screws for it on the way home , so have to buy more of them. Tried Focus, with no joy, will try B & Q tomorrow.
Want to do my Tesco shop, but also want to wait until I check out the 50p offers at Asda.
Anyway, hope you all have a good day
Pen Pin - have a great holidayWe must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Morning everyone
Haven't posted on these daily threads for a while ... hope everyones ok?!
I too had planned a lie in this morning but OH came home from his friends house at 7.45am (we couldn't afford to pay for a taxi so he waited for first bus using my bus pass) ... anyhoo, the dog used me as a step towards the bedroom door to run downstairs and greet OH so woke me up! Don't feel too bad though, despite having less than 6 hours sleep.
It poured down all night but it seems to have cleared the air, blue skies but no sunshine yet ... so no gardening today but plenty of house work to keep me busy. Then I need to think of how to make some money as OH and I have hit rock bottom and have £30 to last us til 18th August

Morning everyone
Not got much planned for this weekend, we are off to the farm shop after I have finally got my backside in the showerPlanning on making cassoulet for dinner tonight so hoping the farm shop has got its lovely Toulouse sausages on the meat counter to go in my pot! Going to make a big batch of cassoulet, so there's enough for the two of us tonight, and then a batch for four to go in the freezer to be eaten when my parents come down in a couple of weeks.
Then it's off to Tesco with the recycling (currently cannot step inside our shed due to a massive pile of empty plastic boxes/bottles, cans, cardboard etc etc. Hopefully get some Clubcard points on that lot
Got a top I really like the look of on watch on eBay, so must remember to try and nab that this afternoon
Might have a good clearout and do some housework too...
What a glamorous life I lead
Hope you all have a good day

Hey troo  I use baking powder (because I picked it up by mistake instead of bicarb soda
) and it works fine) Am sure others have used neither so think it would be ok

Hi All!
We are back from our trip to my Nans (decided to take the last couple of days off from the PC too although I have been reading posts lol) where we had a great time and DH got sunburnt a little on the back of his neck! Luckily my Nan has an eye for a bargin and so had loads of little bottles of aftersun which she passed on to us!
Well we have now eaten all the hobnobs, and Troo I made some without the powder (as I forgot as I was doing ten things at once) and I couldn't tell which ones they were from the huge batch I made. DH discovered that if you put them in the fridge you can use them as "crunch" on icecream which was a nice change (I hate icecream!).
Right off to get the supermarket bargins!
Hugs to all
Pippa
PS Joshua had his injections earlier in the week and slept right through! He cried a little in his sleep, but it was more of a whimper! Will aim for him to be asleep at the next set too!0 -
Morning all. I'm in a feeling sorry for myself kind of mood today-so I might go back to bed for an hour or so as I'm home alone all day!!! then I might do some more baking and clean and tidy up a bit. I hope the weather looks better tomorrow than it does today as I need to do a car boot tomorrow. I also need to take some photos today so i can list some more stuff on ebay.

Good morning everyone! :hello:
I haven't read the rest of the thread yet, or yesterday's, so will go and catch up in a minute.
We went up tp London yesterday - DH had free tickets to The Retirement Show at Olympia, so he wanted to go and see what was there. Most of it didn't really apply to us - we haven't any investments or private pensions, and won't be buying a property in Barbados (or elsewhere!), but Leger Holidays and Saga were there so we entered a couple of competitions to wins a holiday, then had a :coffee: , then went to the V & A Museum instead, where we had lunch and looked at the Fashion gallery (well, I looked at the clothes and DH sat down and had a rest), then we went to see the Great Bed of Ware - I hadn't even realised it was there until I overheard someone talking about it while we were having lunch. I had never been there before despite living so near London for 25 years  but think I'll see if DD1 wants to go there with me next week if she's at a loose end. I think she'd rather go to the British Museum though, which isn't quite so simple to get to. We'll see.
We watched the Prom on TV last night - enjoyed it very much, and thought of Bargain Rzl!
Not sure what today will bring, apart from a visit to the baker's and the paper shop, but hopefully I'll manage to get some hoovering done - goodness knows the place needs it :rolleyes:so will go off now and catch up on the thread from yesterday and today.
((((((HUGS))))) to all in need, and congrats to anyone who has a birthday or anniversary today or whose birthdays i've missed.
Best wishes

Morning all,
Late on here today had a nice lie in, woke up with a bit of a headache, but took a tablet and now feel 100%, hopefully I have not got any thing horrible coming :T .
Will be going out driving today, OH needs all the practice he can get before his test, would like to pick up a dustbin too, a cheap one will do, to put more spuds in.
Need to get a french loaf, and some frying steak, I had ordered some from sainsbugs for £3, but the were out of stock and sent some for £9  , which was sent straight back, we are having a steak sandwich for tea, I never do much cooking on a saturday, so something nice and simple.
Squigly, so sorry to hear about your nearly boyfriend, I hate it when they do that not answering thing, its just B****y rude  , best thing you can do is delete his number from your phone and completly ignore him, get on with your life, he is obviously not worth your effort or time, S*d him, Mr Right will come along when you are least expecting it took him till I was 36 to find me  , enjoy your time with your friend, hugs to you xxxxxx
Pen pin and family enjoy your holiday xx
Smoky, hope you are ok xx
Hugs to all in need, have a good day xx0
