Hmmmm, not sure about this
Hasn't it dried out a bit and formed a crust? If so, that'll leave little hard bits in your bread.
2 potential problems:- it'll be off (bacteria, etc)
- the yeast will no longer be active, so it won't rise.

Use Pitta Bread as a base...just as good if not better.

Its my girls birthday and we are taking my two daughters and three friends bowling (only £1.50 per child at 4pm) and then we are bringing them back to our house for tea..very money saving!
Anyway, there will be parents there so i'm doing food for all. I want to make a lovely hugh pizza (we have one on saturdays as a treat and they are lovely). Normally i make the dough in my bread maker, roll it out, let it prove for 15 mins then put topping on and cook.
What i want to know is.....if i roll out, let it prove then put the topping on....will it be ok to leave like this for 2 hours before i come home and pop it in the oven or will it continue to rise and look really daft?
Has anyone done this or have any ideas on how to do this?0 -
I don't think it will rise too much. My only concern would be the toppings making the base soggy - what sort of thing do you use?
And a Happy Birthday to Miss Kippers!

Only Mozz cheese and pizza sauce basil & oregano...perhaps i should wack these on quickly when we arrive home then pop in the oven...what do you think?0

Agree with Penny, roll out your base and leave it to rise. It will be fine. Add the toppings when you come home, otherwise it will be soggy and probably stick to the pizza tray.0

Hi there i know know about pizza's lol i am doing a healthy eating course ( free) on a monday morning at my kids school its great. Yesterday we did pizza.
She told us to leave it in a dough ball to rise covered loosely in cling film or under a bowl then roll or knead out when ready to use then put on topping and cook. so by her understanding after it made just leave until you get back then freshly make the pizza.
Tasted very yummy btw had never made pizza before.Still TryingGrocery challenge July 2016

How 'bout you let them do thier own pizzas when you get home - always a hit in our house.
If you set the oven timer to pre heat the oven as hot as it'll go (I have a cast iron roasting dish upside down in the oven on which to bake pizza) and prep all the toppings you can do a thin base quickly when you get in and be eating within 10 mins of starting!0
